Interesting how you call the red dice "high-risk" when it has the same standard deviation/variation as the blue die. Otherwise, the game is quick fun but could use more strategy than just buying regular dice then re-rolls if you can spare the cash on the tactical layer and re-rolling your lowest/highest die if you're under/over (save for the uncommon scenario where you need to clamp the possibilities so you avoid a death tile); why spend ~1.5x the cost on a special dice when you could just buy a re-roll that affects every die?
I think allowing for endless survival would be interesting, as eventually RNG would decide you lose - but if there was the wherewithal to more easily re-optimize die I could see that being a way to keep engaging the player beyond the (rather easy) win condition.

Really enjoyed this game! Had a real fun time playing it and beat first try, I feel you could definitely expand on it if you wanted to.
