Everything you need to know about #Layer2 networks, but was afraid to ask. Say there’s a big, busy road — that’s the main blockchain like #Ethereum. Everyone is driving on it at the same time. It gets crowded, slow, and toll fees (gas fees in this case) go up. Now imagine an express lane running alongside the road. One with fewer cars, is much faster, and cheaper toll (gas) fees. Here’s the kicker: the express lane connects to the same destination as the main road. And when you get there, the system sends a record of your trip back to the main road so everything stays in sync. That’s what a Layer 2 network does. It handles lots of little #transactions on the side, bundles them up and sends a summary back to Layer 1 (the main chain).
