Construction continues on Buchanan Street Mall. The northern block is taking shape with retaining walls now installed and installation of the green infrastructure underway. The current focus is on final grading and paving.
The base for the Memory Walk is being laid on several blocks, with more decorative concrete and pavers forthcoming.
Our staff are also working with City departments and partner organizations to develop operational initiatives for the Buchanan Street Mall Equity Action Plan. This work has significant alignments with the Fillmore Community Action Plan (FCAP) effort, also currently underway.
Our team will participate in the Fillmore Community Action Plan Workshop: Placemaking & Culture on Thursday, June 4, 5pm at the African American Art and Culture Complex. All ages welcome! Food and refreshments will be provided. Event is free; RSVP requested. Click the link for more information.
We are working to schedule a community status report meeting in July to share progress and receive community input on initiative refinement. Stay tuned for more information.
