Golden Gate Park - Stanyan Street Sidewalk Improvements | Construction update, April 6, 2026

Rec Park Improvements: Golden Gate Park - JFK Access and Safety Improvements Posted on April 06, 2026

REMINDER: Construction on the sidewalk that runs along Golden Gate Park on Stanyan Street, between Fell and Hayes streets, continues this week.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of May 2026.

Near the project area, expect pedestrian and bicycle detours. Traffic lanes on Stanyan Street will be shifted over for the duration of construction. Please follow all posted signage and directions from flaggers. Expect construction vehicles and construction noise for the duration of the project.

PUBLIC TRANSIT IMPACTS

The MUNI 33 bus stops on Stanyan at Hayes will be temporarily relocated to nearby locations.

PARKING IMPACTS

One parking space on the northbound side of Stanyan will be unavailable for the duration of construction.

Parking at McLaren Lodge will also be very limited. ADA access to McLaren Lodge is available through the main entrance and will remain available throughout construction. For up-to-date information about access to McLaren Lodge, please contact us at (415) 831-2700 or rpdinfo@sfgov.org.

Parking rules will be enforced. Please follow all parking restrictions and posted signage. Park visitors are advised to find alternative parking locations, such as the Music Concourse Garage (55 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive) and Kezar Lot (825 Stanyan).

Thank you for your support as we work to improve accessibility and safety in Golden Gate Park!
