Favorite AGATHA CHRISTIE Adaptations - New Edition

Once again, I have decided to list my ten favorite movie and television adaptations of Agatha Christie novels. The reason behind this new edition is that my preference has somewhat changed over the past few years:



FAVORITE AGATHA CHRISTIE ADAPTATIONS - NEW EDITION



1. "Death on the Nile" (1978) - This movie adaptation of Christie’s 1937 novel is still my favorite production. Directed by John Guillermin, the movie starred Peter Ustinov as Hercule Poirot.





2. "A Murder Is Announced" (1985) - A television adaptation of Christie’s 1950 novel. Directed by David Giles, the three-part miniseries starred Joan Hickson as Miss Jane Marple.





3. "Five Little Pigs" (2003) - A television adaptation of Christie’s 1942 novel. Directed by Paul Unwin, the television movie starred David Suchet as Hercule Poirot.





4. "Murder on the Orient Express" (1974) - This remains my favorite adaptation of Christie’s 1934 novel. Directed by Sidney Lumet, the movie starred Albert Finney as Hercule Poirot.





5. "Evil Under the Sun" (1982) - A movie adaptation of Christie’s 1941 novel. Directed by Guy Hamilton, the movie starred Peter Ustinov as Hercule Poirot.





6. "And Then There Were None" (2015) - This is an television adaptation of Christie’s 1939 novel. Adapted by Sarah Phelps and directed by Craig Viveiros, the television miniseries featured Maeve Dermody, Aidan Turner, Toby Stephens, Burn Gorman and Charles Dance.





7. "Towards Zero" (2007) - A surprisingly excellent adaptation of Christie’s 1944 novel. Directed by David Grindley and Nicolas Winding Refn (uncredited), the television movie starred Geraldine McEwan as Miss Jane Marple.





8. "After the Funeral" (2005) - A television adaptation and improvement of Christie’s 1953 novel. Directed by Maurice Phillips, the television movie starred David Suchet as Hercule Poirot.





9. "Sleeping Murder" (1987) - A television adaptation of Christie’s 1976 novel. Directed by John Davies, the television movie starred Joan Hickson as Miss Jane Marple.





10. "Murder on the Orient Express" (2017) - This movie is my second favorite adaptation of Christie’s 1934 novel. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the movie starred him as Hercule Poirot.
