There are a number of far more apt cases of parallel thinking than Thanos and Darkseid, since Thanos is noted to be a deliberate rip off of Darkseid, so much that the whole creative process is talked about at length on Thanos' Wikipedia page. Swamp Thing and Man-Thing and the X-Men and the Doom Patrol being the biggest cases (though Swamp Thing and Man-Thing were both inspired by The Heap). I hated this version of Zoom. It looked like he was designed by a 14 year old that had just discovered Slayer. I know it takes a lot to be scary in a yellow costume, but part of Zoom was doing exactly that. Comic book Zoom is terrifying. The fact he's terrifying IN YELLOW makes him even more terrifying. Arrowverse Zoom was just trying too hard. It seems like they just planned it backwards from the point of his being the Black Flash and didn't bother with making it make sense to get there. Absolute waste of Tony Todd too.

On the other hand it led to what I was hoping John Wesley Shipp was going to do from the announcement they were including him. The CBS Flash remains one of my all time favorite tv shows. I watched it religiously growing up and it's probably my favorite interpretation of Barry Allen beyond his original comics. Which is good because Barry in the comics today is more boring than Hal Jordan.

I can go either way. And it's not the first time Ross has painted a Perez. That MASSIVE COIE poster remains incredible. I wouldn't want Ross to just go painting everything Perez did, but there are a handful of pieces I wouldn't mind seeing get a bump up, mainly because the original colors on comic paper stock could use a bit of solidifying. Like the Avengers roster piece with the frame around it being all The Wasp's different costumes? I wouldn't want to touch that. It needs the lower saturation to make everyone stand out. But either the cover or the nearly identical interior of the one where Gyrich tells them they have to prune the roster? That could work.

Also wouldn't mind the old Paul Ryan Avengers poster with Cap in the foreground. I had that over my desk as a kid (the one where Cap is facing the viewer, not the nearly identical one where we see him from behind, calling the Avengers to assemble). I wish I'd brought it with me when I moved in with my partner, my parents ended up throwing it away despite having paid to get it laminated.
