About Amanda Mullen

Amanda is the Associate Editor for Screen Rant’s Classic TV team, and she also helps manage the site’s Books initiative. She has nearly a decade of digital media experience, covering everything from TV and movies to whichever romantasy books and pumpkin spice recipes are breaking the internet that year. In addition to Screen Rant, her bylines can be found on Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Winter Is Coming, Comic Book Resources, Paste Magazine, Mashed, and more.

Amanda is based in Long Island, New York and has a B.A. in English Literature from Adelphi University. The diploma changed nothing; she’s still dissecting books and ordering the extra-large coffee every chance she gets.

Industry Focus

Amanda is the Associate Editor for Screen Rant’s Classic TV team and formerly served as the site’s Fantasy Features Editor. Prior to working at Screen Rant, Amanda covered television, anime, and gaming as a writer at Showbiz Cheat Sheet. She also spent years tackling all forms of entertainment at FanSided, with a special focus on fantasy topics and feminist analyses.

Favorite Media

If a TV show, movie, or book features dragons or magic, you can count on Amanda to cover it. She’s grateful to still be complaining about Game of Thrones season 8 on the internet, years after its series finale. (Don’t worry, it’s still her favorite show.) Other fantasy favorites include The Lord of the Rings, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Attack on Titan, His Dark Materials, Supernatural, Arcane, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians.

Amanda’s favorite shows aren’t all fantasy. She regularly quotes Succession, finds too much solace in Squid Game and The Boys, and is convinced no series will ever top the likes of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
