I'm a bit iffy on this one. The ending, as McB highlighted above, is a powerful gut punch. There is also some good fridge horror in the following line:
youre saying you can make me one of those fancy dolls?
dado can make u toy yes
And the actual "mr mister® by dado" feels exactly like something he would create — from the dado body horror wackiness, to the showcasing of a typical dado double-meaning. I just can't see why Ricardo would respond to that particular ad, though. I can see him being desperate, but it doesn't even seem adjacent to what he was looking for. While this is definitely one of the more thoughtful dado stories I've read, I personally don't find that the dado and father aspects (which are each great on their own!) mesh together well.

Fuck this is dark.
As a divorced parent who has had some hard financial times, this is particularly poignant. There have been times where I would have been willing to do just about anything to give my daughter a great holiday.
+1, no reservations.
Fuck you, Uncle Nico.
You could cut the final text log and not lose anything, but the description of what’s been done to mr mister is gruesome enough to compensate.
Nico, I don't remember giving you permission to play with my feelings like that. +1
