“…The difference in the incidence of perinatal death across studies might be related with the difference in access and quality of care for maternal and newborn care among health care facilities. This finding is far higher from the targeted global plan of sustainable development goal (SDG) to reduce neonatal mortality to less than 12 per 1000 live births and national health sector transformation plan to reduced 15/1000 live births (54,55). This indicates the necessity of Ethiopia federal ministry of health and Tigray regional health bureau to strengthen maternal and newborn care in order to achieve the targeted global and national SDG plan by focusing interventions on the determinants of perinatal mortality such as pregnancy-induced hypertension.…”
