Our MDI Weekend
We had a fantastic weekend at Mt Desert Island. Driving up on Friday night in the rain was a bit of a long ride--5 hours--and apparently it must have been Bring Your Alpaca on a Roadtrip Day, because I saw no less than four vanfuls of alpacas on their way to somewhere. Somewhere entertaining for alpacas, I hope.
We stayed in a little cottage in Salisbury Cove, just outside Bar Harbor. Now I have to let the photos speak for themselves, because every time I'd turn a corner of Acadia National Park, I needed to gasp for breath:
At the top of Cadillac Mountain, in a VERY strong wind:

Views from the race course:

More from Acadia Park:

Some race shots:

The weather did eventually clear up on Sunday (by the end of the race). Dan's time was 3:15. His PR is 2:43. He ran very well, it was a tough, hilly course.
My training continues: today I ran a little over 12 miles, which felt okay. I'd really like to run Boston in the Spring.
