Say what?! - Ellen bashing

I apologize in advance because this is not a happy post but I really needed to vent and this is one of two places where I know people will understand why. I just found this comment about Ellen, which was left by a fan on the Supernatural board at TV.com:

"Ellen needs to go too because I don't think ANYONE (even Jo fans) likes her much and she's creepy and acts like she's got serious spilt personality issues (maybe she's possessed or being controlled). "

Wow.... You know, if there's one thing I really cannot stand, it's people who make generalizations such as this one, as if they know what everyone else thinks across an entire fandom. Obviously this person doesn't know about Live Journal because she wouldn't have said that no one liked Ellen much.  Besides, how anyone can say something so callous and untrue about such a great and complex character is totally beyond me. But to each his own and I'm not going to bash this person for having this opinion. I refrained from replying at the board because I probably would have said not so nice things and the situation could have escalated. I don't like fandom wank and I don't like drama.

That being said, it's not the first time I see something like this happening and it really irritates me...
