Whaaaat? A bonus page?? Featuring special guest: my desk at work! Even in my comic, I end up with the same type of job I have IRL…
Ngl I’ve been kinda worried about my idea to portray Olympus in a modern context (don’t want folks thinking i’m trying to copy a certain webtoon) but I feel like 1) it’s a common enough concept that it’s not going to immediately get pinged as copying, and 2) the execution is different enough that it wouldn’t matter anyway.
This page and a few others I haven’t drawn yet aren’t technically part of chapter 5 but they take place at the same point in time so I’m just kind of tacking them on at the end here. 5 wraps up the initial “setting up the story” beat and the tone will shift back towards silly shenanigans in chapter 6 now that (almost) everyone’s cards are on the table, so this felt like a good point to touch base with some other characters before moving on. The receptionist isn’t like… super important to the overall plot but there’s reason for my silly author insert, I promise!
I’m not sure yet when the other interstitial pages will be done, I’m hoping to get all my friends’ holiday gifts squared away in November so I’m shooting for working on these other pages in December and maybe having them go live in January. We’ll see. I’m not even sure how many pages there will be at this point so I don’t want to make and concrete promises.
No worries----I think this is a really neat idea! It shows that the gods in this story are on a whole other level than our mortal characters. And considering this is Hermes, who is supposed to be a speedy messenger, it makes sense that they'd be the fastest on updating to modern technology.
I love seeing how even the celestial realms are held together with Microsoft Excel (Google Sheets); curious if you actually made a spreadsheet for this specific page. Nice to see all the cats too.
Gotta have that slick multi-line phone with pre-programmed extensions ♡
It was easier than trying to draw it lmao
