Even though the weekend has passed, we still carry in our hearts the intense emotions experienced in Brussels at the first edition of Special Olympics European Union Day! 🇪🇺✨ On the first day, we had the honor of meeting Romanian decision-makers, where Beatrice delivered a sincere and courageous speech 💬❤️ — a strong voice advocating for equal opportunities for Special Olympics athletes from Romania. The second day started with lots of energy during a Unified Sports session, where Betty earned a well-deserved medal 🏅 and climbed the podium of inclusion with a big smile! 🫶💪 The day ended on an emotional note in one of the European Parliament chambers, with a Closing Assembly that left us full of enthusiasm and confidence that our voices matter. 🗣️🌍 We returned home inspired, more confident than ever in the transformative power of people with intellectual disabilities — not only in sports, but also in health, education, and community life. Yesterday in Brussels, we celebrated the first edition of the European Union Day dedicated to Special Olympics 2025! 🇪🇺✨ Delegations from across Europe met with Members of the European Parliament to discuss the role of sport in building a more inclusive society and the impact Special Olympics has for people with intellectual disabilities. We were delighted to meet the Romanian MEPs: Victor Negrescu – Vice-President of the European Parliament, Roxana Mînzatu – Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, and Nicolae Ștefănuță – Vice-President of the European Parliament, who strongly support the importance of inclusion and equal opportunities. 🤝💙 Through sport, we open pathways, build bridges, and show that inclusion is not just an ideal—it becomes a reality when we work together. 💙 #SpecialOlympics #SOEUDay 📸 Special Olympics Europe Eurasia

💙 At the invitation of our friends from Sport Arena Streetball, we joined the Final Tournament #SAS2025 in a 3x3 Unified Basketball demonstration game full of energy and joy. 🏀🙌 Our #BRAVE athletes 😃 who have been part of the Unified Champion School project brought both ambition 💪 and smiles 😊, once again proving that sport unites us beyond abilities. We are happy that one of our flagship programs – #UnifiedChampionSchool 📚 – continues, promoting the unifying power of sport 🏀✨ on the court, in training halls, and in schools across the country. 🌟 Links of Good continues to bring together young people with and without disabilities from Prahova through a brand-new youth project: FIT 4 INCLUSION! 🤩 At the helm, as always, are our well-established Super-Leaders David and Eva, who this time aim to cultivate inclusion starting right from the school garden. 👀 We won’t give away too much just yet — stay tuned! ⛰ Until then, here’s a glimpse of their latest unified mountain hike, which brought together 12 young people with and without disabilities, led by David and Eva and joined by some of their mentors. 🚂 “We set off early in the morning by train from Ploiești, under a gloomy sky with heavy clouds and a high chance of rain. Our backpacks were ready with raincoats, but our hearts were full of joy as we gathered to kick off this new project. 🌲 Once in Bușteni, we started the trail from Căminul Alpin, hiking steadily uphill (and yes, it’s no coincidence it’s called FIT 4 INCLUSION — they proved they can handle the tough parts too 😉). Along the way, they supported one another, helped through the difficult moments, and encouraged each other. 💪 Our brave young adventurers showed great determination and strength, embracing the journey with enthusiasm and curiosity, savoring both the beauty of nature and the joy of being together. ☀ At times, the clouds cleared and rays of sunshine made the forest feel even more welcoming, easing our worries about the rain. 🥪 At Poiana Coștilei, we enjoyed a well-deserved break — sharing food, smiles, stories, and, as a bonus, warm hugs.” 👏 Congratulations to them! We can’t wait to hear their next stories of inclusion. 🌟 FIT 4 INCLUSION is led by the Unified Youth Leaders team — David and Eva Nastasia-Constantin — and implemented by Special Olympics Romania, with funding from Special Olympics International.

🌞 Vacation, friendship, and beautiful memories! Between August 12–14, a group of 24 children and parents, refugees from Ukraine now living in Suceava, enjoyed a few special days at Motivation Romania Foundation Camp in Văratec, Neamț County, as part of the Unified with Refugees project. The days were filled with play, outdoor walks, trips, and lots of laughter – a small vacation that brought peace of mind and many smiles. 💙💛 🤝 Financial support for this project is provided by Aruna Abhey Oswal Trust and Lions Clubs International Foundation through Special Olympics International. #UnifiedWithRefugees #LCIF
