Writer's Block: If at first you don't succeed...
What have you tried in life that you just weren't very good at?
I once joined a gym.
Okay, I twice joined a gym.
The first time, I lived in Lansing, MI and had great ideas about losing twenty pounds. Needless to say, one $1100 lifetime membership later, I had not gone to the gym even one time.
The second time, I thought surely I knew better by now.
And the answer is no, no I don't know better. I hate the gym. I hate working out. I hate working out with people. I hate sweating. I hate how red my face gets when I work out. I hate people SEEING how red my face gets when I work out. I hate workout clothes. I hate sports bras. I went about 15 times with a personal trainer and I hated every session.
I hate the gym. I hate the mirrors, the muscleheads, the pyramids of protein shake mixes. The tiny bicycle shorts. The tiny counter girls. The thick-necked country boys. It's just normal. It's not natural.
I know my doughy waistline is hardly what God intended for his masterpiece, but that isn't the point here.
So, I tried to join a gym (twice) and failed both times.
