Random Ranger-y thoughts.
Have watched first five episodes of GoGo Sentai Boukenger. Uniforms are a little weird, but pretty cool. Definitely no WTFiness of the Magiranger capes, or the Charlie-Brown-shirt uniforms from Gingaman, or the helmets from Ohranger (and I still think the GoGoV uniforms were the ugliest things out of all the Super Sentai series that got adapted into Power Rangers).
. . . hi, I am being pretentious tonight and pretending like I actually know what I'm talking about when it comes to sentai. I haven't actually seen any extensive sentai series since someone gave me a tape of Zyuranger way back in the day.
But no, seriously. Boukenger. Which (for those of you who don't know, and that would be most of you) is going to be the basis for next year's Power Rangers Operation Overdrive. I do believe the Dai Bouken is the most crack-armed mecha ever, but I'm really digging the treasure-hunting theme here. No pun intended. Should be interesting to see how this translates into PR: OO; I'm looking forward to it.
I'm also really disturbed by the fact that somehow I managed to make up my own whole entire starting premise for PR: OO in my head while in the shower this morning, and now I'm gonna go and be all disappointed when it turns out to not be what I imagined. But you know what? I don't care. Dammit, I'm excited about this series.
In other random meta-y bits, am currently far too amused by the notion of, instead of Sam the glowy ball of light from the future, Leo Wyatt from Charmed as the SPD Omega Ranger. 'cause, you know, glowy ball of light, and . . . ahem. Yes. There's also the other AU in my head where Anders is the Omega Ranger and don't ask me how that works, please.
Have been screencapping "Wormhole" and other bits off various PRDT DVDs. Yes, I did my best to get Conner and Kira in the same frame as much as possible. Shut up. Took a few Kendrix caps from "The Power of Pink" just now. Will be screencapping PRMF's "Dark Wish" tomorrow for Vida icon fodder. Rawr, Vida. Mystic Force, you are LEAVING ME TOO SOON. *CLINGS*
