Not going to be my best writing but I do want to talk about it in some way.
I'm tearing my hair over that one because the immediate read (as it's easy to see by the reactions) is that this is exclusively about Ayin, but it isn't. "Male gaze" isn't "there's a sexualized woman", it refers specifically at media being portrayed from the perspective of a man for an audience of men. It's the complete disregard of women as people, and it's a societal phenomenon not an individual one.
With this in mind, "Male gaze" does two things: it talks about her dehumanization within the story, and her disregard from the audience.
You don't notice subtle changes in culture as they're happening until one day, you reflect on how jarring it would be if you, in the year of our lord 2026, heard something described as being "made of win"
We don't make things out of win anymore. Win is too expensive. You'll be lucky to find something made out of stalemate. Mostly we've been using decaying status quo or even outright lose as our construction materials
I have in my possession certain heritage items made of win, but they have to be kept under archival conditions due to the win shortage nowadays.

my partners and i watched a “documentary” about some paranormal horseshit because it looked funny but the problem with doing that when i’m around is that i will shout “they’re not even doing EVP correctly!” and then pause the movie to explain why they are fucking up this thing i 100% do not believe in, know exactly how it’s made, and have created myself to show people how easy it is to make without any intentional hoaxing having to be involved. if you’re gonna try to sell me bullshit you better hope i’m not already deeply invested in manure quality control
