Ahh, school
So I've been to all of my classes now, in two days of rain and not quite snow (which, I can tell you is not a good look for Burlington. These past two days have been downright depressing). I've also been out twice in as many days with the L/L crowd and we've managed to make even more things in the world grossly inappropriate. I love my friends. And now it's time for the obligatory class overview.
Classical Mythology - Obviously, what's not to love? That and I know one of the TAs and about half of my friends are in it. A promising class with a crazy fun teacher (which I seem to have found in spades this semester).
Psychoanalytical and Queer Theory - It's technically an English class, but really, it's a theory class. Lots of Freud and Lacan and pretentious speak. The teacher, however is hilarious and promises to make Buffy references as the other class he's teaching (in the Film & TV Studies department) is partly focused on the show and his wife, Hilary (who I had this summer in the Program of Insanity) is in the process of writing a book on it. Also, Brady's in the class and he is an intellectual to the core and knows pretty much everyone on campus and is a blast to argue with. Oh, and the class is so filled with slashers. Our teacher made a reference to Kirk/Spock and fanfiction and I saw some nods of recognization (besides my own).
Japanese 2 - Continues my class from last semester. Same teachers, same books but a smaller class. It's nice and relaxed and condusive to actually learning things.
Chinese Literature in Translation - The book is a brick. A brick of death and literature. But other than that the class is nice. Mostly it's filled with kids who are taking Chinese or are Asian Studies majors. The teacher is funny as all get out, and continually makes Harry Potter references. That's a class I'm not soon going to forget.
General Psychology - It's the typical PSYC 001 class, but instead of 175 people in the class and barcodes to put on your homework instead of your name, it's a night class, so it's 5-8 on Tuesdays and there are only 35 people in the class. It's taught by an actual clinical psychologist (whose wife is runs a spiritual spa, tres amusing) and he's also really funny. This school has such fantastic teachers, I cannot get over it.
I missed Supernatural last night due to an impromptu Denny's trip, so I'm waiting to download it. I can't wait. I heard there was much angsty Dean goodness. And I'm also downloading the second season of SG:A as fast as I can and praying that Amazon hurries the fuck up with the first season I ordered forever ago. I wanna write McKay, damnit!
