Twilight

As the sun fades and life turns to dust,
We weep the most for all those lost.
As the laughter subdues and eyes turn,
A somber tale emerges for others to learn.
As the songbird silences and returns to nest,
One can hear a heavy heart falling to rest.
As the wild stream calms and the trees still,
One remembers warmth as it turns to chill.
As the winds settle in the valley below,
Remembering life becomes aged and slow
As the twilight turns and its colors fade,
I hear voices of old loves as if they stayed.
