Shameful and cowardly.
Trump wants the @USDAGov to stop collecting data on food insecurity because he knows hunger will spike after his Big, Ugly Bill kicks millions of families off food assistance.
Cities and states deserve swift, reliable relief following a terrorist attack.
After the Boston marathon bombing, our community knows that all too well.
That’s why we must reauthorize and strengthen the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act to support businesses & workers reeling from tragedies.
Our women deserve a world of healing—not one of shame, suffering, & pain.
We met with @LupitaNyongo & @MandyMooreMM to discuss why we should be investing in women’s health research, not cutting it.
I voted NO on Trump and Republicans’ spending bill that will make families poorer, sicker & more vulnerable.
We have a healthcare crisis thanks to their Big, Ugly Bill, which ripped away Medicaid from millions & will raise healthcare costs—& this bill does nothing about it.
I won’t be complicit.
The occupant of the White House is coming after our free speech.
He wants to dictate what you can watch, what you can say, & what you can read.
This is a five alarm fire for our First Amendment rights and anyone who cares about our democracy.
Trump’s militarization of DC is not about safety.
It’s about suppressing Black leadership, stopping Black progress & criminalizing Black & brown youth.
If Republicans actually cared about safety, they’d invest in prevention, mental health, & community-based supports that keep people safe. #FreeDC
Trump just inexplicably canceled the $20M grant we secured for the Roxbury Transit Corridor.
This is a critical investment, allocated by Congress, that would improve the daily lives of commuters, enhance climate resilience, & strengthen our communities.
This fight isn’t over & we will push back.
The #MA7 is vibrant, diverse, and full of culture in part thanks to the rich Hispanic & Latinx communities who call it home.
They are community leaders, movement builders, justice seekers, service members, & more — and I’m so proud to represent them in the halls of Congress.
Today, @USHouseFSC held an urgent roundtable to address Trump’s attacks on the Federal Reserve’s independence.
We must rein in Trump’s brazen power grab, including his unlawful attempt to fire Gov. Lisa Cook.
Thank you @RepPressley for your remarks and for fighting for the dignity of work.
Today Republicans want to pass a bill to strip the Fed's mandate for maximum employment.
This mandate is essential to ensuring jobs are available & people are employed—and removing it would devastate our economy & communities.
I won’t stop fighting for the dignity of work.
Republicans' Price Stability Act does nothing to stabilize prices.
❌Nothing on Inflation
❌ Nothing on tariffs
❌Nothing on affordability
My amendment would rename this bill the "Ignore High Unemployment Act" to reflect what it would actually do.
No worker should be left behind by AI.
Technology advancements should supplement what workers do—not replace them.
My amendment would require the Fed to study the impact of AI on employment and report back to Congress.
Gas at the pump is high.
Insurance premiums are high.
Groceries are the highest they've ever been.
And Donald Trump just confirmed what we've always known: He doesn't give a damn about lowering costs or the financial wellbeing of the American people.
He never did.
The Federal Reserve’s mandate for maximum employment is essential to ensuring jobs are available and people are employed—and removing it would devastate our economy and communities.
That’s why during @USHouseFSC markup, I introduced four amendments that:
—Preserve the Fed’s mandate to continue pursuing maximum employment.
— Ensure the Department of Labor regularly shares employment data each month.
—Renames their harmful bill to Ignore High Unemployment Act to reflect what it would actually do.
—Require the Fed to conduct a study on the likely impacts of AI adoption on employment so workers aren’t left behind.
But instead of standing with workers, Republicans voted them down.
While they continue advancing harmful, anti-worker policies, I’ll keep fighting for the dignity of work. ... See MoreSee Less
