Wonderfalls (4 Recs)

1. Jolly by fox1013 - General Series - This story is so scarily in synch with the show's tone and writing, it makes me wonder about the author...hhmmm. “I don't do festive," Jaye said. "It's like asking Mickey Mouse to do a striptease. It makes everyone uncomfortable."

2. A Carving Knife by Heath07 – This story amused me. Poor Jaye can’t escape the voices, even in a cooking store. Great Jaye voice, great way the voice leads to a resolution of some sort, and there’s some Eric in it at the end. "Okay, fine! You win, all right? But I am so not killing anyone for you." She picked up the knife and stuffed the lobster inside her jacket, looking around once to make sure no one had noticed.

3. Her Words by fox1013 - Yes, two stories by same author, shame on me and stuff. But it’s good. Very, very good. Everyone should go read, feedback like crazy, and maybe we’ll get more *good* fic. "A real Gen Y-er?" Jaye says after a moment. "Such as myself? She doesn't really care about the environment, unless you mean her environment. In which case she feels that anything to further the extinction of the deeply stupid would be beneficial to the world at large."

4. Zombie Jamboree by untrue_accounts – I love it. Short, succinct and wonderful. Jaye and Aaron banter with some Mahandra thrown in. "Though plush zombies still make more sense than zombie cow creamers," Mahandra finished smoothly.

Entourage (5 Recs)

1. You’ve Got A Pretty Bad Poker Face by throughadoor - Vince/Eric – The voices in the story are so damn perfect and I like the stories that look into the past, those that deal with how Eric moved out to Los Angeles. "No wonder you're so skinny, then, huh?" Eric says. He glances over his shoulder. "Hey, Tony," Eric calls out to the kid at the register. "Take my spot, I'm gonna go have a smoke with my friend Vinny fucking Chase."

2. Every Color Goes Where You Do by smartlikejustin - Vince & Eric - Eric comes to Vince’s rescue, per usual. It’s a perfect example of the dynamic between Vince and Eric. Eric rolls his eyes as Vince stops jumping and drops to the cell floor, cross-legged. He stares up at Eric, eyes wide and Eric's seen that look four or five times a day the week he's been in L.A. He still can't decide if it's a pro or a con.

3. The Sleeper by wearemany - Vince, slight Vince/Eric – Revolves around a bet. I admit this story scared me at first because second POV can be hard to pull off, but it works here. And there’s Ari and Vince and Eric...it’s fun and evil. Perfect for those boys. You lay back on his couch, red leather soft and warm against your cheek. This seems like the kind of furniture that belongs in a shrink's office. You've never played a scene in a shrink's office before, though, so you aren't sure.

4. Last Cigarettes by iridescentglow - Vince/Eric – This story is so well written it makes me fear every dabbling in this fandom. It has everything that makes the relationship between the two so wonderful, even in all its fucked-up glory. As shitty as Vince was at breaking up, he was somehow surprisingly adept at making up.

5. The Man In the Would Be Suit by hackthis - Vince & Eric - I’m pretty sure this story summarizes the feel of the relationship between Vince and Eric better than any summary ever could. Plus, it’s got the snark and tone down pat. “I can’t manage Vince if he doesn’t fucking listen to my advice. I’m supposed to keep him from doing stupid shit like this.”
