A Search for Cosmological Dipole Signatures in the Pantheon+ Supernova Sample Using a Vacuum Shear Model (VSM) Framework

Abstract

We present a statistical analysis of the Pantheon+ Type Ia Supernova (SN Ia) sample to test for the presence of a directional (dipole-like) modulation in the Hubble residuals under an isotropic H₀ baseline. Using 719 filtered SN Ia events (z < 0.2) and a simple dipole fitting framework, we detect a mild but non-negligible dipolar component with an amplitude of |A| ≈ 0.2365 mag and a best-fit direction of (RA, Dec) ≈ (239.4°, –77.5°). This result is not claimed as evidence for anisotropy of cosmic expansion, but as an empirical anomaly worth independent reevaluation. We publish both the code and results openly and invite groups—especially those dealing with high-precision cosmology such as the CERN Theory Group or astroparticle collaborations—to investigate whether such residual signatures may arise from calibration systematics, survey geometry, dust modeling, or deeper physical effects.
