Abstract

Jennifer Prah Ruger's book Health and Social Justice is a substantial contribution to the emerging scholarship at the intersection of health issues and the philosophy of social justice. This area has been getting increasing attention which is partially evidenced by the growing number of monographs being published on the subject. Prah Ruger proposes a bold and expansive theory of justice and health care policy that is informed by health economics, public policy, political science, and legal and political philosophy. The book should interest individuals seeking to bridge health care policy with social justice debates, public health ethicists, and political philosophers interested in population level health issues.
