Abstract

Due to the fact that CBRNE situations are not a major issue when regulating data processing (both at international and internal level) only by means of the exceptions established by the general regulation on processing of personal data it is possible to achieve the setting of a legal framework on this topic in CBRNE contexts. The main purpose of the present paper is to point to the existing regulation at this level in the European context (including regulation produced by the Council of Europe and the European Union legal framework) and to highlight the possible need for legal reforms so as to avoid a lack of protection in CBRNE situations.
