Abstract

In this chapter, I share my perspective on the role that we, researchers, play when developing a community-centered research project. Through my autobiographical narrative, I share experiences and lessons learned over two decades as a social scientist, facilitating and implementing diverse methodologies that have been oriented towards the development of the organizational skills of communities and their role as protagonists in identifying solutions for their own health problems.
