Abstract

This paper examines self-awareness from a phenomenological and existential perspective. Rather than treating consciousness as an isolated property possessed by individual organisms, it explores the possibility that human beings are expressions of the universe itself and that self-awareness represents a form of cosmic self-reflection. Beginning from the immediate fact of experience rather than metaphysical speculation, the inquiry investigates the relationship between existence, consciousness, and the sense of self. The paper argues that the deepest philosophical mystery is not merely that the universe exists, but that existence becomes capable of knowing itself. Human consciousness is approached as a phenomenon through which reality encounters its own presence. The self is therefore understood not as a separate entity standing apart from the cosmos, but as a locus through which the universe becomes aware of itself.
