Abstract

This paper presents a meta-ontological account of emergence within the framework of Meta-Monism, where reality is constituted not by substances or interactions, but by gradients of ontological difference (∇U). We argue that emergence is not the spontaneous generation of novelty but the stabilization of differential tension between actuality (A) and unrealized potential (–A₀). By reformulating emergence as a retention threshold within an ontological field, we provide a coherent alternative to both reductionist and pluralist paradigms. Emergence is modeled not as a physical event, but as the temporal fixation of asymmetry within a bounded range of ∇U intensity. Implications for physics, metaphysics, and consciousness studies are explored.
