Abstract

Martin Heidegger’s Promethean revolution. Following some preliminary considerations on the phrase ‘conservative revolution’, the article interprets Heidegger’s ‘conservative revolution’ as a Promethean revolution, showing that his mythical, anti-progressive thought actually aims at a utopian future. To do so, the essay explains Heidegger’s nationalist concept of history which provides the background for his mythical turn. Using the example of his talks about Cassirer and Anaximander, Heidegger’s position is then reconstructed in detail.
