Abstract

The author develops classical logic using deductive, theoretic, semantic, and axiomatic methods, emphasizing their unity rather than their differences. This approach clarifies the role of the presented completeness proofs. Other topics covered include a formalization of arithmetic, the theory of definitions, and theorem-proving machines. --K. J. B.
