Abstract

The subfield of a Caribbean philosophy of science has been a rather neglected one. This paper is a contribution to making this subfield more visible and its major claims more explicit. This focus on the Caribbean philosophy of science is undertaken through a close examination of the works of two Caribbean physicists and their relationship to the broader Caribbean ontology of creative realism. These two physicists are Neville McMorris and Stephon Alexander. The major claim of this paper is that the works of these two physicists rest on an interdisciplinary philosophy of science rather than the more disciplinary view that has come out of the positivist tradition.
