Abstract

Modern social and economic environments are increasingly structured by informational asymmetries, strategic awareness, and fragile incentives. Within such environments, agents do not just choose actions—they choose how seriously to take the game itself. The original hustler/sucker distinction captures a fundamental asymmetry where some agents exploit the structure of the game (hustlers) yet others sustain it through sincere participation (suckers).
