Abstract

In this chapter, Martin Luther King Jr.’s time at Crozer Theological Seminary and his graduate doctoral studies are discussed and explored. During these years, his personality and intellectual pursuits evolved. This evolution in King’s thinking toward nonviolence and his liberal evangelism are described. These experiences influenced his future leadership in the civil rights movement.
