Abstract

Literature provides its own theory. Many literary works contain a vision of what ekphrasis can be in a narrative text. The clearest example of a theory of ekphrasis nested in a novel can be found in a dazzling short story by Daniele Del GiudiceDel Giudice, D., In the Museum of Rheims [1]. The author almost unconsciously reveals before our very eyes the original setting of all ekphrasis. He offers a taxonomy that takes into account the linguistic and stylistic aspects of description, introducing the three great modes of ekphrastic rhetoric: denotation, dynamisation and integration.
