Abstract

Development of science, not to use the new theory to replace the old theory, but to allow the coexistence of different theories, scientific theory is the proliferation of beneficial; not only to the original theory provides more external criticism of the standard, but also conducive to show each other their theoretical weaknesses and difficulties, and even these difficulties can be addressed by other theories. Scientific theory and scientific methods are diverse at any time, any method is useful at any time, that is, "What goes" and, therefore, there is no standard methodology at all. "Against Method" is the slogan against the need for scientific research activities in the normative standards, it advocates is a kind of rationalism and science on the nature of the cause of anarchism, that "methodological anarchy". "What goes" the meaning is to allow the use of various methods; "Against Method" is not to oppose by all means, but only against the general proposition that one dollar of methodological standards. "What goes" is not a new way to replace the previous method, but only that all the methods and rules have a certain scope, have limitations.
