Abstract

Scientists, theoreticians, academics and people involved in the arts, representing every possible discipline, paradigm and attitude, assembled in Brussels between 29 May and 3 June 1995 for a conference entitled Einstein meets Magritte: An interdisciplinary reflection on science, human action and society. With such a title, it is not surprising that the event developed into a most stimulating meeting of minds. There is hardly a precedent for so many different viewpoints provoking such high-quality responses with such stimulating results for so many participants from so many countries, as this gathering.
