Abstract

“Psychoanalytic treatment” and “psychoanalysis as an intervention in the capture of enjoyment” are the interpellation guides we will use to operate a psychoanalytic vignette from the series Wanderlust. To this end, we will make a surgical cut in the series in question, taking into account only an excerpt from episode 5, as it dramatizes a curious process of interventional reductions in the speeches of the protagonist Joy (Toni Collette), by her analyst Angela (Sophie Okonedo), from whose clinical management it is possible to make inflections on the power of psychoanalysis to penetrate the unconscious formation of enjoyment, as well as to raise possibilities of freeing oneself from its symptomatic capture.
