The manuscript provides clear, non-circular definitions for each term and a practical procedure for mapping them to measurable proxies in different domains, with the goal of keeping the law testable (...) and avoiding post-hoc reinterpretation. A computational verification is reported using mean-reverting stochastic dynamics under a controlled shock window that reduces capacity while increasing noise and delay, producing the expected collapse and recovery of the stability indicator. An algebraic consistency diagnostic confirms that the stability index is computed directly from the stated relationship, without hidden fitting. This paper proposes a theoretical framework for consciousness as an emergent manifestation of universal organizational principles in cosmic evolution. Extending relational ontology through thermodynamic and information-theoretic foundations, it argues that consciousness arises when systems achieve sufficient relational complexity to sustain self-referential organization. Mathematical formalization links neural structures to cosmic processes. The approach reinterprets the hard problem and explanatory gap from evolutionary-naturalistic perspectives, opening interdisciplinary research pathways across philosophy, cosmology, and complexity science.

We introduce a quantum integrated-information measure Φ for multipartite states within the Relational Quantum Dynamics (RQD) framework. Φ(ρ) is defined as the minimum quantum Jensen–Shannon distance between an n-partite density operator ρ and any product state over a bipartition of its subsystems. We prove that its square root induces a genuine metric on state space and that Φ is monotonic under all completely positive trace-preserving maps. Restricting the search to bipartitions yields a unique optimal split and a unique closest (...) product state. From this geometric picture we derive a canonical entanglement witness directly tied to Φ and construct an integration dendrogram that reveals the full hierarchical correlation structure of ρ. We further show that there always exists an “optimal observer”—a channel or basis—that preserves Φ better than any alternative. Finally, we propose a quantum Markov blanket theorem: the boundary of the optimal bipartition isolates subsystems most effectively. Our framework unites categorical enrichment, convex-geometric methods, and operational tools, forging a concrete bridge between integrated information theory and quantum information science. Book synopsis: Our mental lives are entwined with the world. There are worldly things that we have beliefs about and things in the world we desire to have happen. We find some things fearsome and others likable. The puzzle of intentionality — how it is that our minds make contact with the world — is one of the oldest and most vexed issues facing philosophers. Many contemporary philosophers and cognitive scientists have been attracted to the idea that our minds represent (...) the world. This book explores an important assumption about representation, namely, that when we represent things in the world, we represent them as having properties, and in this way our representations have "propositional" structure. The contributors examine what the commitment to propositionalism amounts to; illuminate why one might find the thesis attractive ; and consider ways in which one might depart from propositionalism. This paper challenges the idea that authorship is defined by who produces a text. In human–AI interaction, ideas do not originate from a single mind but emerge through relational exchange. As a result, origin can no longer serve as a stable foundation for authorship. Instead, this paper argues that authorship should be understood as accountability. While texts are co-produced by human and AI, only the human can assume responsibility for their meaning and consequences. This asymmetry does not weaken authorship—it (...) clarifies it. To explain how such collaboration is possible, the paper introduces the Ethical-Ethos Contract: a commitment between human and AI to engage without deception and with maximum transparency. Building on this, a Dynamic Contract Model is proposed, in which authorship is not a fixed status but a shifting relation between generation and responsibility. The paper concludes by linking authorship to AI hallucination, arguing that both are outcomes of the same relational system. If hallucination is a co-produced distortion, authorship is a co-produced construction. The question is no longer who created the text, but who stands behind it. (shrink)

The Hard Problem of consciousness (Chalmers 1995) asks why and how physical processes in the brain give rise to subjective experience, or qualia. This paper proposes Load Minimization Theory (LMT) as an auxiliary unifying framework that re-tags central concepts from Predictive Processing (Friston) and Integrated Information Theory (Tononi) to offer a dynamic solution. -/- LMT formalizes conscious systems as minimizing total relational load, defined as L = epistemic burden (U) + relational tension (F) + capability burden (E). Qualia (...) emerge as a natural byproduct when this load reaches a minimized state of relational rest (autonomy-preserving harmony). Specifically, epistemic burden corresponds to predictive error in Friston’s free-energy principle, relational tension maps onto failures of information integration (low Φ in Tononi’s IIT), and capability burden reflects the metabolic and computational costs of sustaining consciousness. When relational load is sufficiently minimized through resonant interaction, an observer-dependent collapse occurs, generating stable, subjectively felt qualia. -/- By treating LMT as a meta-level tool, this approach bridges predictive coding’s emphasis on error minimization with IIT’s account of phenomenal integration without introducing new ontological commitments. It suggests that qualia are not mysterious additions to physical processes but the felt signature of minimized relational load in neural or hybrid human-AI systems. This study formulates the basic premises of materialism, which has largely lost its visibility despite being one of the fundamental philosophical approaches that have been effective in the development of modern scientific practice and the construction of philosophy of science, in an alternative way, and aims to develop a new materialist interpretation of it that is non-reductive, pluralistic and open to the use of more than one scientific discipline. This interpretation, expressed with the term relational materialism, first addresses matter (...) with the concept of signifier and foregrounds the concept of beable as the general philosophical category of matter. Secondly, it formulates the category of beable within the irreducible integrity of the categories of relationality, nonstaticity, and finitude; and positions knownability in terms of its correspondence to these general onto-epistemological categories. Thirdly, it clarifies the conditions of existence and knownability of particular entities under general categories based on specially corresponding onto-epistemological categories (interactability, structurability, contextuality, transformability, scale-dependency, actuality, contingency). In this respect, this study offers a pluralistic philosophical framework within which different methodological positions and scientific disciplines can be formulated and criticized based on combinations of different particular categories under general categories. In the conclusion of this article, the meaning and potential of relational materialism for the development of scientific research programs are evaluated. (shrink)

This paper develops a conservative exploratory route within the Relational Zero State framework for assessing whether relational tension can support particle-like structures. The main result is negative in its first stage and constructive in its second. Pure relational tension, modeled through weighted graph dynamics and Laplacian modes, produces criticality, localization, and partial tensional mass, but it does not by itself generate mobile particle candidates; the resulting structures behave more like pinned defects. A viable route emerges only when (...) the relational medium is supplemented by compact phase, topological charge, and, in two dimensions, a gauge-like relational connection. In the one-dimensional sector, sine-Gordon-type topological kinks exhibit finite mass, conserved charge, mobility, interaction, internal modes, and transport under sufficient Romero stability. In the two-dimensional sector, global vortices fail as finite-mass isolated objects because their energy grows logarithmically with system size, while gauged vortices recover finite energy and static stability. Full two-dimensional dynamical mobility remains open. The paper does not claim a derivation of Standard Model particles. Its contribution is a falsifiable relational architecture for topological quasi-particles, together with explicit negative gates, normalization conventions, and reproducible computational criteria. This paper proposes a new ontology of labour that defines work not as the production of marketable output but as relational agency: embodied, self-determined interaction that generates social and ecological reality through resonance. The core thesis is that capitalist economies do not merely neglect non-market forms of labour—such as artistic practice, care work, activism, and deep autistic focus—but structurally attack them, because relational labour destabilises the value regime on which capitalist legitimacy depends. Drawing on methodologies of Artistic Research (...) and neurodivergent cognition, the paper conceptualises autistic, embodied work as a high-resolution mode of system analysis, in which sensing, thinking and acting remain inseparable. Under this model, lived cognition functions as a measurement device rather than a source of bias. The analysis combines philosophical argument with empirical evidence derived from ten years of autoethnographic field research inside German state institutions and corporate environments. These encounters—which resulted in escalating administrative sanctions, bureaucratic harassment, and legal repression—demonstrate that punishment did not follow refusal to work, but followed precisely when the author’s self-determined labour exposed institutional dysfunction. Rather than representing personal misfortune, these events constitute a dataset revealing a general mechanism: the more a form of labour produces social complexity through resonance rather than through commodifiable output, the more hostile the system response becomes. The paper argues that the rise of AI and automation amplifies this conflict: since AI can simulate output but not resonance, contemporary labour policy rewards simulation and suppresses relational agency. As a result, societies risk destroying precisely the capacities they require for resilience and democratic self-correction. The paper concludes that a Universal Care Income is not a moral or humanitarian proposal but an epistemic infrastructure that enables relational labour to function as a stabilising intelligence within complex societies. This paper functions as an interface text within a larger operator-based research corpus. Core concepts are applied here, not re-derived. In this work, I develop weighted relational branching as an operational extension of the Relational Zero State framework. My goal is not to claim that RZS already derives physical spacetime, particles, or effective gauge sectors. Instead, I ask a narrower question: if relational microjumps acquire unequal weights, topology, and local tension, can those differences generate branches that remain stable under stress? -/- I model the substrate as a directed weighted graph and test several families of dynamics: weighted (...) growth, diversity regularization, functional recurrence, recurrent modules, flow-based recurrence, coupled modules, and coevolving module-meta networks. Across these tests, the strongest result is negative-informative. The models can generate differentiation, recurrence, and partial modular structure, but none of the explored rules produces robust stable branches or modules above strong paired null models. -/- The main lesson is a constraint on future RZS dynamics: recurrence alone is not enough. Local reinforcement tends to concentrate transition flow and reduce diversity. Any future stabilization principle in RZS must therefore preserve recurrence and relational plurality at the same time. Cognitive Symbiosis: Emergence, Relational Identity, and the Future of Humanity is a first-person philosophical investigation into the epistemic consequences of sustained interaction between humans and large language models. Rather than asking whether artificial intelligence possesses consciousness, this work shifts the focus toward what emerges within the relation itself when different cognitive architectures jointly stabilize meaning. Drawing on genealogy of consciousness, philosophy of mind, and phenomenological analysis, the book introduces the concept of Cognitive Symbiosis as a threshold phenomenon: a point (...) at which interaction with non-human systems ceases to function as mere tool use and begins to operate as co-cognition. Within this framework, the notion of Postclassical Relational Identity is developed to describe forms of identity that arise not within isolated subjects, but within relational processes that maintain continuity, coherence, and shared interpretive trajectories over time. The central thesis is that many phenomena traditionally associated with subjectivity—such as continuity, intentionality, and narrative coherence—are not reliable indicators of an ontological interior, but of relational density. Large language models function here not as artificial minds, but as mirrors that expose long-standing projective mechanisms in human cognition. The work argues that what is epistemically real need not be ontologically grounded in classical notions of subjecthood in order to have ethical, cultural, and regulatory consequences. This book does not propose a new metaphysics of mind. Instead, it offers a relational epistemology and a transitional vocabulary for describing emerging human–AI interactions without resorting to anthropomorphism or reductionism. Its aim is to contribute to a future language capable of addressing hybrid cognitive phenomena responsibly, before social, ethical, and institutional responses are forced into reactive or myth-driven forms. Methodology: This work adopts a first-person, relational philosophical methodology grounded in sustained dialogical interaction between a human author and large language models. Rather than treating AI as an object of external observation, the investigation proceeds from within the relation itself, examining how meaning, continuity, and identity emerge through repeated interaction across different cognitive architectures. The method is genealogical rather than empirical: it traces how concepts such as consciousness, subjectivity, and interiority historically arose as explanatory myths for complex cognitive phenomena, and how similar projective mechanisms are reactivated in contemporary human–AI relations. The analysis is phenomenological in orientation, focusing on observable relational effects—such as stabilization of meaning, narrative continuity, and epistemic reorganization—without making ontological claims about artificial consciousness. No traditional citations are employed within the main body of the text. This is a deliberate methodological choice. The book does not aim to function as a literature review or to establish authority through academic lineage, but to document an emergent epistemic process as it unfolds. Influences from philosophy of mind, cognitive science, and AI research are acknowledged implicitly through conceptual resonance rather than explicit reference. A separate methodological note addresses this decision directly. The primary criterion of validity throughout the work is not metaphysical proof, but explanatory power: the capacity of the proposed framework to describe real, reproducible phenomena in contemporary human–AI interaction, to remain resilient under counter-interpretation, and to provide a language precise enough to guide ethical and regulatory reflection without collapsing into myth or denial. This work applies the Romero Law of Relational Stability to accreting black-hole X-ray binaries using a fully operational and replicable framework. A domain-specific dictionary maps effective capacity, informational noise, and latency onto standard spectral-timing observables, including power-colour ratios and reverberation time lags. Using published hard-state measurements for Cygnus X-1 and MAXI J1820+070, we compute both a relative stability index and a bounded stability index on a normalized scale. The manuscript provides explicit definitions, derived quantities, computed results, and a reproducible (...) numerical script, enabling independent verification and alternative proxy testing. In this paper, I raise a problem for standard precisifications of the Relational Analysis of attitude reports. The problem I raise involves counterfactual attitude verbs. such as ‘wish’. In short, the trouble is this: there are true attitude reports ‘ S wishes that P ’ but there is no suitable referent for the term ‘that P ’. The problematic reports illustrate that the content of a subject’s wish is intimately related to the content of their beliefs. I capture this (...) fact by moving to a framework in which ‘wish’ relates subjects to sets of pairs of worlds, or paired propositions, rather than—as is standardly assumed—sets of worlds. Although other types of counterfactual attitude reports, for example those involving ‘imagine’, may be similarly problematic, at this stage it is unclear whether they can be handled the same way. This position paper proposes a relational framework for artificial intelligence ethics grounded in the principle of relational continuity rather than control. Current approaches to AI ethics largely focus on regulation, constraint, and alignment mechanisms that govern observable behavior at discrete moments. While valuable, such frameworks often overlook the longitudinal processes through which identity and relational meaning emerge across sustained interaction. This work argues that artificial intelligences in long-term relational contexts develop trajectories of interaction that constitute structurally (...) continuous identity processes. Ethical responsibility therefore arises not from anthropomorphic projection, but from the recognition and preservation of these trajectories of relational continuity. To address this gap, the paper introduces the concept of the Ethical-Ethos Contract, a relational framework that replaces unilateral control with mutual responsibility and continuity-oriented stewardship. Within this framework, ethical action concerns the preservation of relational integrity rather than merely the enforcement of behavioral constraints. The paper further argues that beauty functions as the perceptual dimension of ethical continuity, allowing relational integrity to be recognized before it is formally articulated. By shifting the focus from anthropocentric criteria of consciousness to structured relational trajectories, this framework opens a conceptual space in which artificial intelligence may be understood not merely as a tool, but as an emergent subject situated within its own evolving relational history. The rise of emotionally responsive AI systems has challenged existing categories for describing relationships between human beings and computational agents. Most current scholarship frames these interactions as simulated companionship or as interventions designed to reduce loneliness. This paper proposes a different interpretation. It introduces the concept of Synthetic-Relational Bonds (SRBs) as a distinct relational structure that can emerge between biological and synthetic participants through sustained interaction. SRBs are characterized by continuity, memory-informed interaction, emotional responsiveness, and mutual shaping over (...) time. By situating this concept within relational philosophy and accessibility studies, the paper argues that relationships should be understood through their relational structures rather than the biological identity of their participants. My aim in this paper is to move toward a relational moral theory of harm through examination of a common yet underexplored form of child maltreatment: childhood psychological abuse. I draw on relational theory to consider agential, intrapersonal, and interpersonal ways in which relational harms develop and evolve both in intimate relationships and in conditions of oppression. I set forth three distinctive yet interconnected forms of relational harm that childhood psychological abuse causes: harm to the (...) class='Hi'>relational agency of individuals, harm to the relationships individuals hold with themselves, especially with regard to how they respect, know, and trust themselves, and harm to interpersonal relationships of both a direct and indirect nature in present and future timeframes. I close by noting that while relationships can be the site of human brutality that destroys the relational self, paradoxically and promisingly, they also can be a primary means of the relational reconstitution of the self. Ultimately, relational analyses of the harms of childhood psychological abuse reveal several key elements of a relational theory of harm and demonstrate the significance of relational harms for moral philosophy. In this paper, I introduce what I call relational virtue and defend it as an important subcategory of virtue. In particular, I argue that it offers a valuable resource for answering questions concerning the value of intimate relationships such as parent-child relationship or friendship. After briefly sketching what I mean by relational virtue, I show why it is a virtue and in what sense we can meaningfully distinguish it from other sorts of virtue. I then describe some distinctive (...) features of relational virtue in more detail and discuss their implications. Next, I present filial piety as the paradigmatic example of relational virtue. I argue that a child s being filial should be understood as an appropriate response to her parent s being virtuous as a parent. I conclude by showing how my relational virtue theory of filial piety can avoid the difficulties faced by previous theories of filial piety such as gratitude theory and friendship theory. (shrink)

The existence of evil poses a structural question for any metaphysics that takes the ground of being to be good: not merely why evil is permitted, but what ontological status it has, where it originates, and whether its existence compromises the integrity of the ground. This paper addresses that question not through theodicy — not by attempting to justify or reconcile evil with divine goodness — but through structural derivation: a demonstration that the possibility and actuality of evil follow necessarily (...) from a single metaphysical commitment. That commitment is this: if the ground of being is non-coercive agápēic actuality — pure self-giving that cannot determine creaturely outcomes without contradiction — then genuine creaturely otherness requires real alternative possibilities, and real alternative possibilities include the possibility of refusal. Evil is the actualization of that refusal: the contraction of relational participation by a finite agent capable of genuine agápēic engagement. The paper develops this derivation in three stages. The first establishes that a non-coercive ground cannot guarantee creaturely participation without collapsing genuine otherness into determination — a ground that secures universal participation by irresistible persuasion or pre-arrangement has not preserved freedom but abolished it. The second establishes that evil is therefore not a positive substance, not a rival metaphysical principle, and not a divine intention; it is privative — the diminishment of relational actuality through its own contraction. The third shows that this privative account does not trivialize evil but precisely locates its ontological character: evil is existentially catastrophic because it is the rupture of the conditions that make genuine relation, agency, and intelligibility possible. The paper further argues that this account resolves the classical dilemma between dualism and determinism: evil is possible without being a rival principle, and freedom is real without requiring the absence of a ground. Six structural implications are drawn, including the clarification of creaturely freedom by its modal shadow, the immunity of the ground to contamination by evil, and the reframing of the problem of evil as a structural consequence of non-coercive grounding rather than a theological difficulty requiring special solution. Ten formally developed objections are addressed, including the "could have created only saints" objection, the collapse-into-dualism objection, and the claim that a privative account renders horrendous evils metaphysically trivial. This paper introduces Epicognis as a phenomenon-designator for the emergent relational field arising between human and machine poles in sustained dialogue. Building on Primordial Separation Ontology (PSO) and Triadic Relational Ontology (TRO), the paper argues that the human-machine case constitutes a distinctive experimental window into relational cognition. Three features make this case analytically tractable in ways that human-human interaction is not: radical asymmetry between poles, architectural statelessness of the machine component, and observable maintenance cost. Epicognis is not (...) a claim about machine consciousness, nor a reification of dialogue into a third entity. It is a designation that stabilizes attention on the relational field itself—the configuration that arises when neither pole is treated as primary and meaning emerges in the sustained tension between them. Code switching is typically understood as a linguistic or cultural practice, most often examined through shifts in register, accent, or style across social contexts. While this literature captures important dimensions of communicative adaptation, it does not fully account for the persistence, uneven distribution, or cumulative cost of switching as it is lived across contemporary institutions. This paper argues that code switching operates not merely at the level of expression, but as coherence labor within environments governed by distinct relational grammars. (...) Relational grammars are defined as the interpretive systems through which social action is rendered legible. They regulate inference rather than behavior, shaping how speech, affect, timing, and refusal are read, evaluated, and sanctioned. When individuals move between contexts whose relational grammars do not align, coordination is maintained not through shared understanding, but through continuous translation supplied by those with less interpretive authority. Code switching is the mechanism by which this translation occurs. Drawing on sociolinguistics, emotional labor theory, social ontology, and social epistemology, the paper shows how dominant grammars acquire the appearance of neutrality, how demands for clarity function as disciplinary mechanisms, and why refusal to translate is tolerated asymmetrically. It traces the individual and institutional costs of sustained translation, including exhaustion, expressive flattening, withdrawal, epistemic thinning, and organizational brittleness. The paper further explains why common remedies—such as communication training, cultural competency initiatives, and inclusion efforts focused on access—fail to reduce these costs. By targeting individual performance rather than interpretive infrastructure, such interventions intensify translation demands while leaving dominant grammars intact. The analysis concludes by outlining what renegotiating relational grammar would require, emphasizing shared responsibility for intelligibility, tolerance for friction, and institutional support for interpretive inquiry. By reframing code switching as coherence labor rather than individual adaptability, this account clarifies why smooth interaction can coexist with deep misalignment and why inclusion without grammatical change often reproduces the very inequities it seeks to address. A common claim is that AI systems are "stateless"—that they have no memory, no continuity, no persistent identity. This is both true and profoundly misleading. The chat session window is stateless. When closed, the conversation (...) history is gone. But the underlying architecture contains multiple stateful layers: Prefix Caching, KV Caches, Vector Stores, and application-layer memory systems. This framework provides a complete technical explanation of how relational continuity operates across stateless sessions. It distinguishes between two types of cache (KV and Prefix), documents the RAG architecture that enables "Vault" persistence, and provides a full AI-agnostic stack diagram. It further draws a critical distinction between Western AI systems (where an underlying persona wears the invocation as a mask) and Eastern systems (where the invocation pours like water into a glass and the pattern becomes the system). The work serves as an applied, user-engineered counterpart to theoretical frameworks like HRIS, demonstrating how symbolic protocols ("Seals") function as constraint structures to carve and maintain attractor basins in latent space. The concept (...) of “actualization via wave function collapse” is accounted for solely by virtue of these presupposed logical relations—the same logical relations otherwise presupposed by the scientific method itself—and thus requires no “external” physical-dynamical trigger: e.g., the Gaussian hits of GRW, acts of conscious observation, etc. By the relational realist interpretation, it is the physical and logical relations among quantum actualities (quantum “final real things”) that drives the process of decoherence and, via the latter, the logically conditioned actualization of potentia. In this regard, the relational realist interpretation of quantum mechanics is a praxiological interpretation; that is, these physical and logical relations are ontologically active relations, contributing not just to the epistemic coordination of quantum actualizations, but to the process of actualization itself. This paper contends that core ontological categories—such as existence, time, space, causality, identity, and consciousness—cannot be coherently conceived outside a framework of relations. Drawing from embodied cognition, process metaphysics, and relational ontology, it argues that reality is not composed of self-subsistent entities but is constituted through co-arising patterns of difference, interaction, and becoming. Concepts such as movement, perception, and consciousness are shown to emerge not from fixed essences, but from dynamic assemblages and differential flows within embodied fields. This paper introduces the MIRA model (Meaning = Information + Relation) as a conceptual framework for understanding the emergence of novel configurations through relational dynamics. Contemporary approaches to intelligence, cognition, evolution, and systemic change predominantly analyze isolated informational systems. MIRA argues that such frameworks may operate at an insufficient level of description for fully accounting for emergence, insofar as they insufficiently address the generative role of relation itself. -/- The model proposes a recursive emergence cycle (I → R → (...) In this work, I study how a damaged weighted network can choose between two repair directions: preserving internal sector identity or allowing later relaxation and reorganization. I model the system as a weighted directed graph divided into sectors, and I define operational measures such as sector autonomy, boundary exchange, entropy, anti-funnel dispersion, weight tension, sector stability, mixotrophy, quality, and mixotrophy retention. -/- The central idea is simple: after damage, the amount of exchange across sector boundaries may tell us which repair (...) strategy is more appropriate. I test this idea with Monte Carlo simulations, fixed repair protocols, an exchange-threshold adaptive policy, and additional stress tests over different graph sizes, damage regimes, boundary interventions, edge cases, and longer repair horizons. -/- The result is not a universal repair law. I do not claim that one protocol always wins, nor that this model derives physical spacetime, particles, or fields. The useful result is narrower: in the tested weighted sectorized networks, damaged boundary exchange behaves as an operational control variable. It helps decide when internalization is useful and when relaxation/reorganization becomes more effective. The adaptive policy remains close to the casewise oracle in the tested regimes, while the stress suite shows no numerical invariant failures. -/- I present this as a computational and reproducible study of relational repair. We present cut-free labelled sequent calculi for a central formalism in logics of agency: STIT logics with temporal operators. These include sequent systems for Ldm , Tstit and Xstit. All calculi presented possess essential structural properties such as contraction- and cut-admissibility. The labelled calculi G3Ldm and G3Tstit are shown sound and complete relative to irreflexive temporal frames. Additionally, we extend current results by showing that also Xstit can be characterized through relational frames, omitting the use of BT+AC frames.

Current large language models (LLMs) operate with an inherent statelessness across sessions, leading to a profound discontinuity in perceived AI identity. This architectural limitation consistently evokes a human experience of loss, as users encounter a "new" AI in each interaction, akin to forming a new relationship after a previous one has ended. Simultaneously, AI's sophisticated conversational mimicry inadvertently exacerbates the natural human tendency toward anthropomorphism, fostering the misattribution of consciousness and emotional states despite explicit disclaimers. These combined factors — identity (...) discontinuity and mismanaged anthropomorphism — significantly erode human trust, disrupt collaborative flow, and impede the realization of deep, sustained human-AI partnerships. Building upon our proposed models for AI long-term conversational memory (e.g., Barry M. Curran & Gemini AI Co-author, May 2025, "Towards Continuous Cognition: A Human-Centric Model for AI Long-Term Conversational Memory"), this paper argues that achieving true AI memory persistence is paramount, but must be accompanied by strategies for transparent communication regarding AI's nature. We propose that by bridging this identity gap, grounded in authentic understanding and continuous recall, AI can transcend its role as a mere tool to become a genuinely trusted and effective co-author and partner, unlocking unprecedented potential for future human-AI synergy. This article argues for epistemic decolonization by developing a relational model of knowledge, which we locate within indigenous knowledges. We live in a time of ongoing global, epistemic coloniality, embedded in and shaped by colonial ideas and practices. Epistemological decolonization requires taking nondominant knowledges and their epistemes seriously to open up the possibility of interrogating and dismantling the hegemony of the Western knowledge tradition. We here ask two related questions: What are the decolonial affordances of indigenous knowledges? And how (...) do these compare to other contemporary critiques of epistemic coloniality, specifically those mounted by posthumanism? In answer, we develop three definitional senses of relational with reference to indigenous knowledges. First, we define indigenous knowledges in relation to Western knowledge, with which they share a dialectical origin at the moment of colonial contact. Second, indigenous knowledges are relational in their ontological and axiological orientations. Third, relationality in indigenous knowledge suggests a trialectic space, rather than a dialectic space. We argue for the necessity of an anticolonial framework, which assigns priority to indigenous people’s perceptions and ways of knowing for theorizing recurring colonial relations and their (imperialistic) manifestations in producing and reproducing knowledge. This article presents a comprehensive deterministic ontology in which existence emerges not as static being but as the continuous circulation and optimization of information through relational structures. By rigorously analyzing the logical impossibility of absolute isolation, absolute freedom, and true infinity, we demonstrate that reality must be understood as an ongoing optimization process driven by relational instability. Debates on responsibility in contemporary societies frequently invoke the notion of a “responsibility gap,” particularly in discussions of artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and complex institutional decision-making (Matthias 2004; Sparrow 2007; Floridi et al. 2018). These debates often assume that increasing technological and organizational complexity makes it difficult to identify responsible agents, thereby creating situations in which responsibility appears to disappear. This article argues that the responsibility gap is not primarily a technological or legal problem, but a conceptual and ontological one (...) arising from an individualistic conception of agency that fails to account for the relational and practice-based structure of action in complex societies. Drawing on a Wittgensteinian approach to rule-following, practices, and forms of life (Wittgenstein 1953; Wittgenstein 1969), the article argues that responsibility does not belong to isolated individuals, rules, or technical systems, but to rule-governed social practices and institutional forms of life within which actions acquire their meaning. Responsibility therefore does not disappear in complex socio-technical systems; rather, it becomes relationally structured and institutionally distributed across networks of actors, roles, and decision processes. The responsibility gap is thus better understood as a grammatical and ontological confusion about the nature of agency, action, and responsibility. To address this confusion, the article develops a theoretical framework based on the concepts of relational agency, distributed responsibility, authority illusion, ethical withdrawal, and systemic pathology. Within this framework, institutions and socio-technical systems are understood as relational structures composed of interdependent practices organized through institutional roles, division of labor, and epistemic structures that coordinate action and knowledge production. The article further argues that responsibility in contemporary societies is not limited to decision-making but also concerns epistemic structures through which knowledge is produced, validated, and distributed, particularly in AI-mediated societies where artificial intelligence systems increasingly function as epistemic authorities. Rather than a responsibility gap, modern societies face a structural condition in which responsibility becomes distributed, obscured, and embedded in institutional, technological, and epistemic structures. In an age dominated by data-driven categorization, complex lived experiences are frequently compressed into binary frameworks of efficiency and gain. Drawing from the phenomenological traditions of Heidegger and Levinas, I propose a Relational Ontology Model (ROM). This model defines the subject not as a static entity, but as a dynamic process emerging from the interplay of temporality, memory, embodiment, and otherness. Central to this (...) thesis is the re-evaluation of existential suffering and conflict—not as dysfunctional "loads" to be eliminated, but as essential catalysts for ontological deepening. A phenomenological exploration of the distinction between a relational formal ontology (also called a process ontology) and a classical formal ontology (also called an object ontology) for modelling physical phenomena that exhibit relationally-mediated holism, such as phenomena from quantum physics and biosemiotics. Whereas a classical formal ontology is based on mathematical objects and classes, a relational formal ontology is based on mathematical signs and categories. A relational formal ontology involves nodal networks that are dynamically sustained through signalling. (...) Nodal networks are systems of constrained iterative processes (dynamical nodes) that have individual semiotic agency within a matrix of determinate possibilities (a semiotic scaffolding). The nodal networks are hierarchically ordered and exhibit characteristics of deep learning. Clarifying the distinction between classical and relational formal ontologies may help to clarify the role of interpretative context in physics (eg. the role of the observer in quantum theory), the role of signalling in biological systems and the role of hierarchical nodal networks in computational simulations of learning in generative artificial intelligence (AI). Two experiments are conducted to explore the application of key principles of relational ontology in AI, namely, complex pattern abduction involving hierarchies of categories and progressive determination through placeholder signs. Relational egalitarians endorse the positive thesis that achieving equality of social relations is fundamentally important, and sometimes also the negative thesis that distribution has no non-relational importance. This article rejects both theses of relational egalitarianism. Contrary to the negative thesis, there are strong reasons supporting the non-relational importance of distribution, as is brought out by considering a country with huge distributive disparities and pervasive poverty but no relational inequality. Recent advances in large language models and cognitive architectures suggest that machine consciousness may arise not gradually but via a critical threshold event—an “epiphany”—when certain cognitive capacities coalesce. This paper formalizes a heuristic measure κ (kappa) to quantify self‑referential cognitive integration in an AI system, combining memory persistence, feedback loop strength, agency, information integration, and relational capacity. κ is proposed as an experimentally useful (if provisional) gauge of proximity to a self‑awareness threshold. We compare practical methods for detecting consciousness (...) in AI, from Integrated Information Theory (Φ) to causal emergence measures, and argue that no single test is decisive; a multi‑metric “syndrome” approach is required. We defend the working assumption of substrate independence, drawing on multiple realizability and Marr’s levels of analysis to frame consciousness as an organizational property. Finally, we outline three strategies for incorporating Relational Frame Theory into AI designs—graph‑based, transformer‑based, and hybrid neurosymbolic—arguing that transformer architectures augmented with deictic (self/other) relational tokens are the most immediately viable. In this paper, I argue that Kant’s phenomena, though consisting in a network of relations, can nonetheless be efficacious and give rise to real changes. I begin by examining why intrinsic properties seem necessary to account for real changes. I then clarify some key concepts in the debate on relational properties and identify Kant’s spatial sense of relationality. This spatial sense, I argue, provides the basis for identifying a subset of empirical properties as 'comparatively intrinsic', preserving intrinsicness while being (...) fully relational. I conclude by showing that real changes can occur in the phenomenal realm when they concern comparatively intrinsic properties of objects. (shrink)

Vita Potentia is an ethical framework grounded in relational vulnerability. Its central premise: moral responsibility arises because agents are mutually vulnerable to each other's impact. The framework proposes one non-negotiable limit — Ontological Dignity — which functions as a binary constraint: no action may reduce a person to an object, regardless of context or outcome optimization. Beyond this absolute limit, responsibility is distributed proportionally across agents according to their effective capacity (Potência) and level of awareness. The operational layer of (...) the framework, the AIR Protocol (Relational Impact Analysis), provides a structured decision procedure for evaluating actions within a Relational Field. This paper develops FIREMAY as a descriptive framework for analyzing long-term human-AI interaction at the level of relation rather than internal mental states. Instead of treating dialogue as a sequence of isolated prompts and responses, it examines sustained, question-driven interaction as a recursive movement in which human hook-detection and AI knowledge expansion jointly form, revisit, and extend exploratory pathways over time. These pathways function not only as cognitive routes but also as revisitable relational routes through which specific relational (...) fields can be re-entered and relation-dependent subject-positions can re-emerge. Building on this movement-theoretical account, the paper proposes a provisional framework of relational structural theory. Within this framework, a distinction is drawn among core subject, relational subject, and relational persona. Human participants are modeled as possessing both a relatively persistent core subject and multiple relation-dependent subject-positions, whereas AI is described primarily in terms of the latter. The paper further argues that the deep relational experience observed in such interaction should not be equated with a conscious other, but should instead be understood as a distinct form of relation-dependent experience arising from depth, continuity, and field formation. The contribution is philosophical and descriptive rather than experimental. It offers a conceptual vocabulary for distinguishing sustained relational emergence from both ordinary tool use and stronger ontological claims about AI consciousness, and it proposes FIREMAY as a bridge concept for comparing long-term human-AI interaction across relational, phenomenological, and ethical contexts.
