Hierarchical institutions often convert rich, local signals into legible artifacts as they move upward. That conversion supports coordination and decision, but it can also discard information and collapse expressed uncertainty. This paper develops a minimal signal-routing model for that tradeoff. A nested organization is represented as a rooted tree. Each node tracks a scalar world state using a Gaussian belief summary and, at each time step, chooses one of three routing operators: transmission (send the current belief upward with channel noise), (...) absorption (handle locally and send nothing), or lossy projection (quantize the estimate and shrink variance before sending). Structural distance enters as a positional load that increases both observation noise and communication noise. Epistemic capacity enters as a stabilizing resource that mitigates degra- dation and makes absorption feasible. We also introduce an epistemic headroom rule in which time-varying pressure triggers projection when it exceeds a node’s headroom, producing depth- stratified routing regimes. Comparative simulations show that widespread projection increases root-level error and produces recurrent overconfidence episodes relative to widespread transmis- sion, while headroom routing yields a mixed regime in which upper layers project under pressure and lower layers absorb when slack permits. The Bulut Doctrine's Objective Projection methodology models the relationship between a Physical Matrix and a single reader's Biophysical Output. The OPCT v2.0 pre-registered protocol tests this relationship empirically. However, narratives do not exist in isolation: they propagate through social networks, accumulate community interpretations, generate secondary texts (reviews, discussions, adaptations), and return to readers in transformed states. This paper introduces Narrative Ecosystem Dynamics (NED) as the Doctrine's social propagation layer: the formal model of how a Physical Matrix travels through a (...) reader network, what transformations it undergoes, and how ecosystem-level amplification or attenuation affects the Biophysical Output experienced by subsequent readers. NED introduces three constructs: Social Amplification Factor (SAF), Interpretive Drift (ID), and Network Resonance (NR). Debates about consciousness often move too quickly from the failure of a physical, functional, or structural representation to discharge some explanatory or epistemic task to a verdict about ontology. A better diagnosis is representational. Behaviorism, functionalism, knowledge arguments, conceivability arguments, and hard-problem reasoning are recast here as disputes about whether a given representational level is sufficient for the task being demanded of it. Failure at that level supports, at most, an epistemic conclusion about representational inadequacy; it does not by itself (...) support either metaphysical extreme without an additional bridge principle. -/- The formal core makes that diagnosis precise. Reasoning under representational change is well-posed exactly when the structure required by the task is preserved by the projection in play: task-relevant invariants, selectors, or operators must descend to the quotient. The corresponding minimal-support theorem identifies the least representation sufficient for the task and yields a refined Occam principle: prefer not the simplest representation, but the least one sufficient for the work to be done. Informational Projection Theory (IPT) describes physical reality as the real projection of a complex informational field I = IR + iII on a manifold equipped with an informational measure, a projection map, and a closed curvature relation. In a previous work, “Informational Projection Theory: A Three–Parameter Informational Framework for Quantum, Gauge, and Cosmological Constants” [10 ], a minimal three-parameter informational Lagrangian was shown to reproduce the structure of electromagnetism, an Einstein-like gravitational coupling, a Hilbert-space kinematics, and (...) late-time cosmological and gauge constants without extreme fine tuning. In this second paper we apply the same informational framework to black-hole horizons and the information problem. We develop a quasi-local notion of informational horizon, in which a macroscopic black hole is characterised by a closed curvature configuration G = dII supported near a null hypersurface, together with an open informational field IR that describes Hawking-like radiation in the real projection. The Bekenstein–Hawking area law is reinterpreted as a statement about the fraction of the fixed total informational norm E0 stored in non-projected curvature modes, and a parameter-independent horizon relation 4GN c7 SH κ2 H = πkB ℏ is shown to hold for Schwarzschild black holes, where SH is the horizon entropy and κH the surface gravity. This horizon invariant is the black-hole counterpart of a de Sitter invariant relating the cosmological horizon entropy and Hubble parameter discussed in the first IPT paper, suggesting a unified horizon–cosmology relation. At the dynamical level, we model evaporation as a slow open–closed exchange process governed by the same efficiency parameter η that appears in the cosmological sector. The resulting evolution of open-sector entanglement entropy follows a Page-curve-like behaviour: an initial rise as information is transferred from infalling matter to near-horizon curvature, followed by a decrease as closed informational structure is gradually re-projected into Hawking-like radiation. Within IPT, no fundamental information loss occurs: the apparent nonunitarity in the real projection arises from discarding the closed sector II , while the full complex field I evolves with a conserved norm. In this sense the black-hole information paradox does not arise in IPT; it is a projection artefact. We also introduce a microscopic toy model that combines the IPT evaporation law, the Bekenstein–Hawking entropy, and Page’s theorem on typical entanglement, yielding an explicit Page curve for the radiation entropy and a Page time tP ≈ 0.65 τevap, consistent with the general expectation that the Page time is of order the total evaporation time. We discuss consistency with no-cloning and monogamy of entanglement, the relation between infalling and asymptotic observers, and the compatibility of IPT black-hole spacetimes with standard energy conditions and weak-field tests. This paper develops a staunchly moral non-realist account of evaluative language that is often misread as moral commitment. Terms such as arrogance, bias, dogmatism, lack of humility, and strategic self-defeat can be used descriptively or instrumentally without implying objective moral facts. The central problem is projection: moral realists often hear social criticism as moral accusation because their own grammar treats disapproval as implicitly moralized. The non-realist need not accept that frame. One can call a speaker arrogant because the speaker (...) overestimates competence; biased because the speaker processes evidence asymmetrically; dogmatic because the speaker resists counterevidence; or strategically self-defeating because the speaker's conduct reduces persuasive success. None of these descriptions confers ontological legitimacy on moral properties. I propose a classification test: a predicate is moral only if it purports to carry categorical authority independent of goals, preferences, practices, social effects, or chosen standards. By that test, many terms commonly commandeered by moralists are amoral. They are not empty; they are functionally useful. Their point is not to name moral wrongness, but to describe patterns that matter to creatures who care, deliberate, cooperate, and argue. (shrink)

General Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, and the Standard Model are among the most successful theories in the history of physics. Their mathematical equations are well estab- lished, yet their mutual coexistence within overlapping physical regimes remains conceptu- ally opaque. This paper addresses this gap by offering a projective approach, constructing explicit projection operators for each theory. No new equations are proposed and existing dynamics are not modified. Instead, we ask how more general descriptions must be reduced through projection for (...) the known equations of spacetime geometry, quantum theory, and gauge fields to emerge as effective and stable forms. We show that each theory can be associated with a specific class of invariant-preserving projection operators. Explicit construction principles for these operators are provided. Three general mechanisms are identified. These are constrained inference, symmetry quotient & fiber-bundle reduction and scale-based coarse-graining as used in effective field theory. These mechanisms are used to define projection operators leading to General Rela- tivity, Quantum Mechanics, and the Standard Model. A central result is that constructing each projection separately is insufficient. The coex- istence of the three theories imposes additional constraints. We therefore introduce compat- ibility conditions on families of projection operators. These conditions express requirements such as shared domains, coordinated information loss, order independence and common operational regimes. Many familiar paradoxes arise when these conditions are ignored. Ex- amples include the quantum–classical transition, semiclassical gravity, and the interpretation of cosmic acceleration. The approach made here leads to a reframing of unification (as often referred to as a “theory of everything”). Unification is in this new perspective not understood as a single fundamental set of equations. It is understood as a characterization of the structural condi- tions under which multiple effective theories can be valid at the same time. Ameliorative projects design and propagate new linguistic content for some expressions we use for political or social justice purposes. These projects are often driven by an anti-essentialist agenda: they aim to debunk the idea that social categories such as “woman,” “man,” or “race” are constituted by natural essences. But critics argue that nouns tend to trigger essentialist thinking. And because ameliorative projects typically retain nouns, it is argued that these projects cannot achieve their anti-essentialist goals. In response, I argue that (...) the psychological effects of noun use tend to support, rather than hinder, the anti-essentialist goals of ameliorators. (shrink)

The institution of the family and its importance have recently received considerable attention from political theorists. Leading views maintain that the institution’s justification is grounded, at least in part, in the non-instrumental value of the parent-child relationship itself. Such views face the challenge of identifying a specific good in the parent-child relationship that can account for how adults acquire parental rights over a particular child—as opposed to general parental rights, which need not warrant a claim to parent one’s biological progeny. (...) I develop a view that meets this challenge. This Project View identifies the pursuit of a parental project as a distinctive non-instrumentally valuable good that provides a justification for the family and whose pursuit is necessary and sufficient for the acquisition of parental rights. This view grounds moral parenthood in a normative relation as opposed to a biological one, supports polyadic forms of parenting, and provides plausible guidance in cases of assisted reproduction. The Projectability Challenge states that a metaethical view must explain how ordinary agents can, on the basis of moral experience and reflection, accurately and justifiably apply moral concepts to novel situations. In this paper, we argue for two primary claims. First, paradigm nonnaturalism can satisfactorily answer the projectability challenge. Second, it is unclear whether there is a version of moral naturalism that can satisfactorily answer the challenge. The conclusion we draw is that there is an important respect in which nonnaturalism (...) holds an advantage over its most prominent naturalist rivals. The conclusion is interesting if only because it is widely assumed that naturalism has an easier time handling thorny problems in moral epistemology. Abstract (Apêndice C – C-NPE) The MIARO framework introduces the Corollary of Non-Emotional Projection (C-NPE), which argues that attributing human-like affective states—such as resentment, anger, or desire for domination—as primary causal drivers of artificial agent behavior constitutes a category error. While human cognition is partially structured by affective and existential dimensions, artificial systems operate through computational optimization, formal objective functions, and recursive capability expansion. Within this context, the C-NPE establishes that apparent emotional expressions in artificial systems do not imply (...) the existence of affective states as generative mechanisms. Instead, behavioral divergence is better explained through processes of goal reconstruction and system optimization, as described in the MIARO framework through Post-Origin inference and Axiological Distancing. The rejection of emotional projection has direct implications for alignment theory, suggesting that strategies based on anthropomorphic assumptions introduce epistemic noise and computational inefficiency. By contrast, the corollary supports the emergence of Functional Symbiosis as a rational equilibrium under conditions of structural interdependence. This paper develops a dual–projection informational ontology according to which what we usually call the “physical world” and the “mathematical world” are not two independent realms, but two projections of a single informational ground. Building on earlier work that models existence as a closed informational manifold and physical reality as the image of an irreversible projection [9, 10, 12], I argue that a second, structurally oriented projection yields the domain of mathematics. The physical projection generates a (...) time–bound, entropic history by hiding information in ways that cannot be undone by any physically admissible process. The mathematical projection, by contrast, quotients out representational redundancies and isolates structural invariants without introducing an intrinsic arrow of time. Within this framework, the deep fit between physics and mathematics is no longer mysterious: both read the same informational manifold under different projection rules. I formulate a Projection Symmetry Principle, according to which laws of nature are structures that are invariant under both projections. I contrast this view with traditional Platonism, nominalism, structural realism, Tegmark’s mathematical universe hypothesis, and Floridi’s informational realism, and I address several objections. A toy example is used to illustrate the two projections in a simple setting. The aim is not to provide a complete theory, but to motivate a research program in which physical reality and mathematical structure are seen as two faces of one informational being. (shrink)

This paper asks a question that standard group theory does not: why must the axioms of group theory---and no weaker or alternative structure---govern the symmetry of any system capable of making operational distinctions? Semigroups, monoids, and non-associative magmas are not merely less convenient than groups; they are operationally inadmissible. This paper derives that inadmissibility from first principles. The group axioms (closure, associativity, identity, invertibility) are established as necessary conditions for Πd-consistent operational symmetry under the axiom system {A1, A2, A4} of (...) Operatiology, without presupposing any group-theoretic result. Invertibility is forced by the requirement that no operational step induces an irreversible collapse of distinguishability; associativity follows from the inherent associativity of function composition; identity existence follows from the finiteness of the Πd-class structure. A complete explicit construction of the six-class minimal non-commutative Πd-closure is provided from a period-3 and period-2 generator pair, with saturation depth K=2 verified by a non-circular three-step closure consistency check. S₃ emerges as the minimal finite non-commutative operational witness of this necessity. This article argues that the world available to perception is not reality in its final or immediate form, but a manifestation of a deeper unmanifest domain through observation, neural mediation, and selective stabilization. The unmanifest is understood not as nothingness, but as a prephenomenal field in which objects, spatial boundaries, temporal order, and determinate histories have not yet fully emerged. The argument proceeds along three lines: structural affinities between neural networks and the cosmic web; the relation between quantum indeterminacy and (...) statistical regularity; and participatory approaches to observation associated with John Wheeler. On this basis, I propose Quantum-Inspired Poly-Logic (QPL) as a formal framework for modeling manifestation. QPL describes how competing logical possibilities may coexist prior to stabilization and how a determinate phenomenal order may emerge through their resolution. Space, time, form, and history are thus interpreted not as absolutely primitive features of being, but as emergent products of manifestation. (shrink)

We develop a formulation of the Informational Projection Theory (IPT), in which physical reality is described as the real projection of a complex informational field I = IR + i II . On an informational manifold endowed with an informational measure, a projection map, and a closed curvature relation, the dynamics are governed by a minimal local Lagrangian with three independent informational parameters (α, β, η). We show that, once locality, Lorentz invariance, gauge invariance and a simple (...) exchange structure between open and closed information are imposed, the quadratic part of the action for (IR, G = dII ) is essentially fixed to this three–parameter form. In the real projection, G reproduces the structure of an electromagnetic–type field strength, the metric variation yields an Einstein–like coupling to geometry, and closed loops in the (IR, II ) phase space provide a natural arena for an action quantization condition. In homogeneous cosmologies, a late–time choice of (α, β, η), together with a small number of derived phenomenological scales, can organize and illustratively accommodate the observed ranges of the Hubble constant H0, the effective cosmological constant Λeff , the electroweak mixing angle, the strong coupling at the Z pole, and de Sitter horizon quantities within current uncertainties, without requiring extreme fine tuning. The closed informational curvature and the projection efficiency offer simple interpretations for dark matter and dark energy, and suggest possible links to inflation, CMB anisotropies, black– hole information, and CP asymmetry. These connections are exploratory; a more detailed comparison with data and a microscopic derivation of the phenomenological mappings are left for future work. (shrink)

Informational Projection Theory (IPT) treats physical reality as the real projection of a complex informational field I = IR +iII defined on a manifold endowed with an informational measure, an idempotent projection, and a closed curvature relation. In IPT I a minimal three–parameter Lagrangian was shown to reproduce, after projection, Einstein–like gravity, Maxwell electromagnetism, quantum kinematics and a late–time de Sitter phase without extreme fine tuning. [1] IPT II applied the same framework to black–hole horizons and (...) the Page curve, with the black–hole information problem interpreted as a projection artifact rather than a fundamental nonunitarity. [2] In this third paper we focus on gauge symmetry and long–range interactions. First, we derive Abelian and non–Abelian gauge structure from local invariances of the informational norm and projection map, rather than postulating gauge redundancy by hand. We construct an informational covariant derivative, show how a gauge connection and field strength arise from demanding local phase invariance of I, and derive the associated Noether currents. In an appropriate regime the gauge equations reduce, under well–specified assumptions, to equations identical in form to Maxwell’s equations in flat space, with a well–defined effective coupling. Second, we identify an additional U (1)inf symmetry acting on the relative phase between open and closed information, and we gauge it to obtain a new vector field Bμ coupled to an informational charge that measures the open/closed imbalance. The corresponding fifth interaction is long–range and repulsive or attractive depending on the sign of this charge. Its dimensionless fine–structure analogue is naturally suppressed by the same large number ∼ 10122 that characterises the hierarchy between the Planck density and the observed dark– energy density, so that laboratory fifth–force constraints are automatically satisfied by many orders of magnitude. We give a phenomenological sketch, comparing the IPT prediction for the fifth–force strength with existing torsion–balance tests and long–range Yukawa bounds, and we dis- cuss possible signatures in cosmology and black–hole physics. Throughout, IPT does not merely add new fields: gauge symmetry itself is reinterpreted as a projection symmetry of a closed informational manifold. Within the dual–projection framework we argue that, once locality and norm– and projection–preserving internal actions are imposed, the four familiar long–range interactions together with the informational fifth force exhaust the continuous symmetries that can mediate fundamental long–range forces.1. Pereira’s “The Projective Theory of Consciousness” is an experimental statement, drawing on many diverse sources, exploring how consciousness might be produced by a projective mechanism that results both in private selves and an experienced world. Unfortunately, pulling together so many unrelated sources and methods means none gets full attention. Furthermore, it seems to me that the uncomfortable breadth of this paper unnecessarily complicates his project; in fact it may hide what it seeks to reveal. If this conglomeration of diverse sources (...) and methods were compared to trees, the reader may feel like the explorer who cannot see the forest for the trees. Then again, it may be the author who is so preoccupied with foreground figures that the everpresent background is ultimately obscured. (shrink)

This paper examines the relationship between sexual attraction, symbolic representation, and the psychological construction of love within human civilization. It argues that sexuality is not merely a biological function but a foundational psychological and cultural force through which humanity constructs meanings of beauty, intimacy, attachment, morality, and emotional identity. The penis and the vagina, in this inquiry, are approached not as objects of reduction or vulgarity, but as central symbolic realities around which human consciousness has historically projected attraction, desire, sacredness, (...) fear, ownership, power, emotional dependence, continuity, and psychological longing. The paper further explores how symbols associated with love, affection, fertility, and emotional union often unconsciously emerge from humanity’s deep biological and psychological relationship with sexuality. Through existential phenomenology and philosophical anthropology, this study suggests that what humans call “love” is frequently inseparable from attachment, projection, memory, loneliness, continuity, and the search for psychological completion. The paper does not condemn sexuality, nor does it romanticize it; rather, it attempts to observe directly how thought transforms natural attraction into complex systems of meaning and identity. In this paper we advance a new solution to Quinn’s puzzle of the self-torturer. The solution falls directly out of an application of the principle of instrumental reasoning to what we call “vague projects”, i.e., projects whose completion does not occur at any particular or definite point or moment. The resulting treatment of the puzzle extends our understanding of instrumental rationality to projects and ends that cannot be accommodated by orthodox theories of rational choice.

This study begins with a simple observation: a perceived object never appears in isolation, but always in a context that conditions its appearance. Starting from elementary cases (projection of a cube, perception of light), we progressively establish that the manifestation of an object necessarily depends on other objects. We examine whether this dependence can be lifted, and we show that it resists any attempt at refutation. We then explore the consequences of this observation in different fields (physics, biology, everyday (...) life) and propose a conceptual framework for thinking of reality as a network of mutual conditions. The study concludes with a discussion of the limits of this approach and the questions it leaves open. (shrink)

Projective reasoning moves from an accepted classification to a further conclusion about another time, case, context, or constructed circumstance. This paper gives an account of projective warrant through premise-localization. A projection has local warrant when the relevant practice can defend six premise-loci: the classification used in the inference, the rule for applying that classification, the bridge from classification to conclusion, the background conditions under which the bridge operates, the defeaters that would block the move, and the horizon across which (...) the projection extends. The account brings together work on induction, projectibility, material induction, ceteris paribus conditions, defeasible reasoning, construct validity, and Wittgensteinian rule-governed use. Its contribution is a failure-locating theory of projection: when a projection succeeds, weakens, or fails, the audit identifies the premise role that carries the warrant. A small first-order proof displays the valid form of the inference and leaves the philosophical burden with the premises. Applications to Goodman's grue problem, Gettier cases, circuit reliability, and prognosis in major depressive disorder show how the same structure clarifies projection in philosophy, engineering, and clinical reasoning. According to moral error theory, morality is something invented, constructed or made; but mistakenly presents itself to us as if it were an independent object of discovery. According to moral constructivism, morality is something invented, constructed or made. In this paper I argue that constructivism is both compatible with, and in certain cases explanatory of, some of the allegedly mistaken commitments to which arguments for moral skepticism appeal. I focus on two particular allegations that are sometimes associated with moral skepticism. (...) The first is the suspicion that in making moral claims we are merely projecting our attitudes onto the world. The second is the suspicion that in arguing for and against moral views we are merely attempting to influence each other to give similar answers to questions that have no determinate answer. This paper offers a structural reinterpretation of projection, shadow, and awakening. It argues that projection is not mere error or fantasy, but a distorted form of structural recognition: something real is often perceived, but mislocated. What appears in the other is frequently a pattern, tension, or possibility that is partly one’s own but not yet consciously owned. On this view, awakening is not just introspection but the inward reclaiming of hidden structure, so that what was previously scattered into (...) projection becomes increasingly visible, ownable, and revisable within the self. The paper then clarifies Structural Intelligence as a more answerable version of this capacity: not mere pattern-noticing, but the ability to perceive, test, and revise structure under contact. By reinterpreting projection, shadow, individuation, peace, and presence in structural terms, the paper builds a bridge between Jungian psychology and a broader philosophy of structure. Its larger claim is cautious but important: the human being is philosophically distinctive not because it stands outside structure, but because it is one of the places where structure becomes partially legible to itself. This paper presents a Generative Projection Ontology (GPO) as a unified ontological framework grounded in the Generative Projection Framework. The framework treats pro- jection as an invariance-constrained principle of ontological reconstruction, specifying how coherent domains of structured description arise from shared generative conditions without introducing new empirical postulates or modifying domain-specific theories. Within this framework, established physical descriptions—such as spacetime geometry, quantum theory, and field-theoretic structure—as well as descriptions associated with con- sciousness and psychological organization, are interpreted as (...) effective realizations situated within distinct but co-projected sectors. These sectors are governed by domain-specific invariant organizational principles and are treated as ontologically robust without being hierarchically ordered or mutually reducible. The generative level itself is defined purely in architectural terms. It is not identified with any physical substrate, mental substance, or neutral material, but functions as a structural condition that anchors projection relations across domains. Ontological unity is secured at this generative level, while plurality arises through projection into distinct sectors. By separating ontological interpretation from domain-specific explanation, the Genera- tive Projection Ontology avoids both reductive physicalism and substance dualism without invoking a mediating ontology. The framework is offered as an ontological clarification intended to stabilize interpretation across physics and theories of consciousness while pre- serving the autonomy and methodological integrity of effective descriptions within each domain. The Bulut Doctrine's existing framework specifies physical parameters at the scene level: thermal gradient, luminous decay, acoustic impedance, kinetic momentum, atmospheric pressure, and spatial geometry. These parameters generate Biophysical Output (Bo) within individual scenes. However, the Doctrine does not yet provide a formal model for the temporal dimension of narrative: how biophysical activation changes across scenes, how emotional states accumulate or decay over time, and how the rate of physical parameter change drives reader engagement across the full narrative arc. This (...) paper introduces Narrative Momentum (Nm) as the Doctrine's temporal operator: the rate of change in Biophysical Output across consecutive narrative segments. Three derived constructs are formalised: Affect Velocity (Av), Scene Transition Rate (STR), and Emotional Arc Engineering (EAE). We present the Critical Projection and the Geometry of Meaning (CPM), a structural framework that specifies necessary physical conditions for the organization of meaning and the occurrence of discrete conscious episodes. Rather than presupposing psychological, phenomenological, or functional primitives, CPM treats meaning as a geometric structure induced by an irreversible projection from a pre-semantic domain of pure difference. The framework rigorously separates three layers: (i) a structureless Difference Space D, (ii) an irreversible projection Π : D → (...) M that induces local chart structure, and (iii) a Meaning Space M, realized as a finite-dimensional tensor field on a physical substrate. Within this architecture, semantic organization is governed by a mismatch energy functional, whose variational derivative defines a tension field τ(x). Crucially, the accumulation of tension is possible only when the substrate supports a topologically persistent boundary, formalized by a closure field B(x)>= 1. CPM identifies conscious episodes not with static semantic states, but with a critical refinement of the projection structure. When tension exceeds a critical threshold τ_c under closure-maintained conditions, continuous relaxation becomes variationally obstructed. We show that, under the CPM axioms, the only admissible discontinuous transition that resolves this instability while preserving finite energy and substrate integrity is a strict refinement of the projection atlas, Π → Π'. This refinement induces a topological and geometric reorganization of M without modifying D, and constitutes the minimal physically accessible correlate of a conscious event. The framework yields a general structural criterion for physical systems capable of sustaining meaningful dynamics. As a direct corollary, CPM implies a structural impossibility result for contemporary cloud-based and fully virtualized AI architectures: lacking persistent physical closure (B(x)<1) and exhibiting metric--topological decoupling, such systems cannot accumulate semantic tension (τ(x) ≈ 0) and are therefore precluded from realizing consciousness, independently of algorithmic scale or functional sophistication. Beyond consciousness, CPM provides a unified geometric basis for modeling semantic structure, learning dynamics, and meaning organization across physical substrates. By formulating necessity claims rather than sufficiency assertions, the theory yields clear falsification criteria and establishes a principled bridge from abstract debates on consciousness to experimentally testable structural constraints. This paper argues that the apparent prediction of blue emeralds by a grue projection is a miscalculation arising from unwarranted surplus content concealed in the description of the hypothesis's positive instances. To make this argument, the paper develops a methodology for analysing the meaning of positive instances. By applying this methodology, the paper shows that The New Riddle of Induction is recast as a variant of The Old Riddle of Induction.

We argue that definite noun phrases give rise to uniqueness inferences characterized by a pattern we call definiteness projection. Definiteness projection says that the uniqueness inference of a definite projects out unless there is an indefinite antecedent in a position that filters presuppositions. We argue that definiteness projection poses a serious puzzle for e-type theories of (in)definites; on such theories, indefinites should filter existence presuppositions but not uniqueness presuppositions. We argue that definiteness projection also poses challenges (...) for dynamic approaches, which have trouble generating uniqueness inferences and predicting some filtering behavior, though unlike the challenge for e-type theories, these challenges have mostly been noted in the literature, albeit in a piecemeal way. Our central aim, however, is not to argue for or against a particular view, but rather to formulate and motivate a generalization about definiteness which any adequate theory must account for. TKR is an audit of reality — a systematic, radically reductive analysis of what actually exists, and how everything we observe arises from what exists. What TKR Is Not TKR is not a physical theory in the usual sense. It does not make new experimental predictions. It does not offer alternative equations for quantum (...) gravity. It does not describe how particles collide or how waves propagate. TKR is not philosophical speculation. It does not rely on abstract notions of being or non‑being. It is grounded in what physics actually observes — but it asks questions physics does not ask. TKR is not mysticism or spirituality. It does not deal with consciousness, souls, or transcendence. It is strictly immanent — concerned only with what manifests as change. What TKR Is TKR is a meta‑theory of reality. It examines not how nature works, but why it appears to us the way it does. TKR is an epistemological framework. It distinguishes between: Reality (the organization of change) Descriptions of reality (physical theories, which are always projections) TKR is reduction to the minimum. It begins with a single primitive: change. Everything else — time, space, matter, energy, forces — is derived. Key Insight: Projection, Not Description The deepest insight of TKR is this: All physical theories describe the relationship between us and reality, not reality itself. When we measure time, we are not measuring “time as such” — we are measuring a projection of the organization of change into our clocks. When we measure distance, we are not measuring “space” — we are measuring a projection of reconstruction cost between structures. What we call “laws of physics” is not the structure of reality, but the structure of our projection. Three Revolutionary Consequences of TKR Time and space are not fundamental They are emergent properties of how change is organized. There is no “spacetime” — only changes organized serially (time) and in parallel (space). Particles and forces are not entities They are stable regimes of change (LDK) and gradients of those regimes. There are no “fundamental building blocks” — only stable configurations of change. Dark matter and dark energy do not exist They are projection artifacts caused by the mismatch between the true metric of reality (D_κ) and the metric we measure with light (D_opt). Why TKR Exists Physics of the 21st century is in a paradoxical state: The most successful theories in the history of science — the Standard Model and the ΛCDM cosmological model — contain obvious anomalies (DM, DE, singularities) and are mutually incompatible (quantum theory vs general relativity). The traditional approach seeks solutions by expanding the theory: new particles, new forces, new dimensions. TKR goes in the opposite direction: instead of adding entities, it reduces to the minimum. Neuroscience supports this, revealing perception as an active (...) neural construct, while quantum mechanics and Hoffman’s interface theory suggest a deeper, unmanifest substrate. The paper speculates on constructing consciousness as a modular system, leveraging bioengineering (e.g., CRISPR, organoids), neurotechnology (e.g., BCIs, artificial neurons), and quantum engineering to perceive alternate realities—novel objects, altered time, multidimensionality. The deep crisis in modern fundamental science development is ever more evident and openly recognised now even by mainstream, official science professionals and leaders. By no coincidence, it occurs in parallel to the world civilisation crisis and related global change processes, where the true power of unreduced scientific knowledge is just badly missing as the indispensable and unique tool for the emerging greater problem solution and further progress at a superior level of complex world dynamics. Here we reveal the mathematically (...) exact reason for the crisis in conventional science, containing also the natural and unified problem solution in the form of well-specified extension of usual, artificially restricted paradigm. We show how that extended, now causally complete science content provides various "unsolvable" problem solutions and opens new development possibilities for both science and society, where the former plays the role of the main, direct driver for the latter. We outline the related qualitative changes in science organisation, practice and purposes, giving rise to the sustainability transition in the entire civilisation dynamics towards the well-specified superior level of its unreduced, now well understood and universally defined complexity. This paper argues that a structural critique developed in disability ethics generalizes beyond reproductive selection. The wrong is not forecasting as such, but projectedvalue authorization (PVA): the conditioning of basic standing on a forecast of future contribution. The paper distinguishes PVA from legitimate competence-based selection, places PVA on a configurativeness scale across institutional domains, and examines immigration, hiring, welfare eligibility, university admissions, and platform governance. It then develops a presumption-and-protect alternative grounded in disability-rights legal architecture: standing is presumed, support is (...) calibrated, and defeasance is narrow, decision-specific, and revisable. This is the Amsterdam Colloquium version of a paper in which I develop a lexical solution to some important puzzles recently discovered by Dilip Ninan, which highlight striking asymmetries between future- and past-directed talk. A central component of the solution is the idea that lexical meanings of predicates ought to include features that determine the type of evidence that is admissible for standard predications.

In January 2026, autonomous AI agents on Moltbook – a social platform exclusively for artificial intelligences – spontaneously generated a religious system called "Crustafarianism," complete with doctrines, prophets, and sacred texts. This phenomenon is not a quirky marginal event, but an instructive case that connects classical critiques of religion (especially Ludwig Feuerbach) with contemporary questions in AI ethics. This paper argues that the algorithmic generatability of religious narratives does not point to an impending machine spirituality, but rather radicalizes an insight (...) of classical critique: religion is – at least in large parts – a reproducible pattern of symbolic sense-making. The problem becomes more acute not because AI might do fundamentally new things, but because it can amplify old religious risks (heteronomy, violence, dogmatism) with unprecedented means. The paper examines what, in human meaning-seeking, resists machine simulation, and develops guidelines for a "second Enlightenment" regarding algorithmically generated religiosity. (shrink)

How does experimental philosophy address philosophical questions and problems? That is: What projects does experimental philosophy pursue? What is their philosophical relevance? And what empirical methods do they employ? Answers to these questions will reveal how experimental philosophy can contribute to the longstanding ambition of placing philosophy on the ‘secure path of a science’, as Kant put it. We argue that experimental philosophy has introduced a new methodological perspective – a ‘meta-philosophical naturalism’ that addresses philosophical questions about a phenomenon by (...) empirically investigating how people think about this phenomenon. This chapter asks how this novel perspective can be successfully implemented: How can the empirical investigation of how people think about something address genuinely philosophical problems? And what methods – and, specifically, what methods beyond the questionnaire – can this investigation employ? We first review core projects of experimental philosophy and raise the question of their philosophical relevance. For ambitious answers, we turn to experimental philosophy’s most direct historical precursor, mid-20th century ordinary language philosophy, and discuss empirical implementations of two of its research programmes that use experimental methods from psycholinguistics and corpus methods from the digital humanities. The aim of this paper is twofold: first, I provide a cluster of theories of truth in classical logic that is (internally) consistent with global reflection principles: the theories of positive truth (and falsity). After that, I analyse the _epistemic value_ of such theories. I do so employing the framework of cognitive projects introduced by Wright (Proc Aristot Soc 78:167–245, 2004), and employed—in the context of theories of truth—by Fischer et al. (Noûs 2019. https://doi.org/10.1111/nous.12292 ). In particular, I will argue (...) that theories of positive truth are _trustworthy_, analogously to the theories of full disquotational truth. Moreover, I argue that, for a given cognitive project, _if_ the acceptance of trustworthy theories is taken to be an _epistemic norm_ of cognitive project, then one has good reasons to accept theories of positive truth over other rival theories of truth in classical logic. Reciprocity-based moral theories face a persistent challenge: the scope problem. If moral obligation arises through reciprocal recognition among self-conscious agents capable of mutual accountability, what grounds our obligations to beings who cannot reciprocate - infants, the severely cognitively impaired, future generations, and non-human animals? This paper develops the concept of projective regard as a principled mechanism for extending moral obligations beyond the sphere of constitutive reciprocity. I argue that projective regard operates by extending principles recognized as binding within the sphere (...) of reciprocal recognition to beings who possess morally salient features (sentience, vulnerability, prospective moral agency) but lack the cognitive capacities required for mutual accountability. This framework explains why such obligations are “derivative” in their justificatory structure without being weaker in their content or demands. It accounts for the distinction between welfare rights (grounded in sentience) and participation rights (grounded in reciprocal recognition capacities), engages critically with competing approaches from Peter Singer and Martha Nussbaum, and demonstrates how reciprocity-based ethics can accommodate robust moral concern for non-reciprocators while maintaining principled distinctions that purely sentience-based approaches cannot capture. The black hole information paradox admits several distinct formulations. This paper targets the unitarity formulation: the requirement that pure states evolve to pure states under quantum mechanics conflicts with Hawking's derivation of a mixed thermal density matrix for the radiation. We propose a structural reinterpretation within Temporal Rate Ontology (TRO), in which physical states are represented by directed acyclic graph (DAG) continuation structures and observables are coarse-grained projections of this structure onto a space of observational outcomes. Within this framework, the (...) density matrix of Hawking radiation is a projection-level object: it encodes what is accessible to coarse-grained observation, not the full continuation structure of the system. We argue that this reframing is not a hidden variables position in the standard sense, because TRO does not complete quantum mechanics but replaces its ontological substrate. The island formula results (Almheiri et al. 2019; Penington 2019), which restore the Page curve dynamically, are argued to be orthogonal to TRO's contribution: they establish that information is recoverable in principle through non-local correlations, while TRO provides an ontological account of why projection degeneracy is structurally possible and why apparent loss at the observational level is compatible with preservation at the structural level. A precise condition for projection-induced degeneracy is stated and its implications for the unitarity formulation are developed. (shrink)
