Teachers in managing their class has always something to recount about their positive and negative experiences that usually occurred in the classroom. These positive and negative experiences affected the holistic disposition of teachers thus, in every small group discussion – both formal and informal, their predicaments regarding their experiences on class management were the primary topic. For the teacher's experiences to be explored and understood this study focused primarily on their experiences in managing class. For this (...) reason, this hermeneutic phenomenological qualitative study focuses on the experiences of the teachers and reflects upon the lived experiences of teachers in class management. This study utilized criterion sampling where ten participants were selected from the teachers of Grade 7 to Grade 10. Data were collected by means of Structured Interviews, and Interpretative Phenomenology Analysis was used to analyze the data. The results of the study show that teachers have been subjected to a number of problems, which result in them losing their patience, especially with students' behavior However, teachers recognized their role in the classroom and provided insightful strategies for combatting the problematic behavior of the students. Considering the management strategy and the personality of the teacher, they were able to realize that even if teaching is a tedious and arduous profession, teachers were still grateful because of the inspiration imparted, happy memories collected, and self-development gained from a fruitful experience in class management. Therefore, teachers whose roles and responsibilities are not limited only to the four walls of the classrooms but it goes beyond their jurisdiction must be given appropriate recognition and compensation. Management of school-related variables and teachers’ job effectiveness in secondary schools in Calabar South Local Government Area, Cross River State was the main thrust of this study. Four research questions were raised, and four hypotheses were formulated to direct the study. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study while the total population of 208 secondary school teachers in Calabar South Local Government Area were selected for the study using census technique. A questionnaire titled “Management of School (...) Related Variables and Teachers’ Job Effectiveness in Secondary School Questionnaire (MSRVTJESSQ)” designed by the researcher was used as an instrument to collect data from the respondents. The null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using Pearson Product Moment Correlation, Independent t-test, and One-Way Analysis of Variance statistical techniques where applicable. It was found that; managing class size, school management style, and school location has a significant influence on teachers’ job effectiveness respectively in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State. It was recommended amongst others that; school principals should ensure that they adopt a more contingent management style where different situations will warrant the use of the different technique; the recommended teacher-pupils’ ratio of 1:35 should be maintained. This study assessed classroom management variables and primary school system effectiveness in Calabar-South Local Government Area of Cross River State. Three null hypotheses were formulated to direct the study. The ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. Census technique was employed in selecting the entire population of 525 academic staff (21 head teachers, 21 deputy head teachers, and 483 teachers) distributed across 21 public primary schools in the area of study. “Classroom Management Variables and School Effectiveness (...) Questionnaire (CMVSEQ) was the instrument used for data collection, with reliability estimates which ranged from .86 and .91 that were obtained through Cronbach Alpha technique. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while the null hypotheses were all tested at .05 level of significance using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and One-Way ANOVA where applicable. Findings from the study revealed that public primary school system effectiveness in the area of study, was generally low; there is a significant relationship between classroom coordination and primary school system effectiveness; there is a significant influence of class size and classroom learning environment respectively, on primary school system effectiveness. Based on the findings, it was recommended amongst others that teachers be retrained in terms of classroom coordination and management, to enable them to acquire new techniques of classroom management, as well as the modification or elimination of obsolete ones. This study explored how public secondary school teachers in Mati North District experienced and managed large class sizes. Using a qualitative phenomenological design, the study examined teachers’ lived experiences, coping practices, and professional insights through semi-structured interviews. The participants were teachers with sustained classroom experience and direct exposure to overcrowded classes. Interview data were transcribed, anonymized, and analyzed thematically. Findings showed that large class sizes created instructional difficulties, classroom management challenges, and limitations in learning resources. Teachers addressed (...) these concerns through adaptive instructional techniques, collaborative classroom management, emotional resilience, and self-regulation. Their reflections also revealed professional growth, deeper recognition of learners’ diversity and potential, and renewed commitment to teaching. The findings suggest that large classes represent not only an enrollment concern but also a structural, pedagogical, and emotional condition affecting teaching practice and professional identity. Stronger school-based support for instruction, resources, routines, feedback, peer learning, and teacher well-being is needed. (shrink)

This study assessed students’ personnel management and academic effectiveness in terms of punctuality to classes, time management, study habits, record keeping, attitudes during classes, note taking, attitudes towards assignment, examination results and attitudes towards co-curricular activities in Calabar Education Zone of Cross River State. Three null hypotheses were formulated accordingly to guide the study following a descriptive survey research design. Proportionate sampling technique was employed in selecting a sample of 1,934 students (representing 20%) from a population of 9,672 (...) students. Students’ Personnel Management and Academic Effectiveness Questionnaire (SPMAEQ) was used as an instrument for data collection. The instrument yielded reliability estimates of .86 and .93 for the independent and dependent variables using Split-half technique. The null hypotheses were all tested at .05 level of significance using Pearson Correlation Matrix with the aid of SPSS v25. Findings from the study revealed among others that; students' counseling, healthcare, and discipline management respectively, are significantly related to students' academic effectiveness in terms of punctuality to classes, time management, study habits, record keeping, attitudes during classes, note taking, attitudes towards assignment, examination results and attitudes towards co-curricular activities. It was concluded generally from the findings of this study that, there is a moderate positive relationship which is statistically significant between students’ personnel management and their academic effectiveness. It was recommended amongst others that; there should be adequate employment and supply of professional guidance counselors to all secondary schools to boost the psychological levels of students and make them emotionally prepared for academic and co-curricular activities in the school. The main thesis of this article is that Western societies risk becoming Balkanized if they confront the superdiversity issue without sound management of intolerance. The Balkanization process has some essential features that allow the use of this term outside the area of origin (namely the Balkan Peninsula). Thus: It always affects a diverse political unit that comprises an inextricable medley of racial, ethnocultural, religious, ideological, or gender identities. It emerges only where neither the hegemony principle nor the confederacy principle (...) can sustain a divided population’s peaceful coexistence. It entails “antagonistic and conflict-oriented relationships resistant to resolution” between the groups or classes dissociated from a diverse political unit. It increases the density of physical and psychological boundaries between the formerly associated parts. It is perpetuated by the great sponsors of the dissociated parts. Any diverse political unit can enter a process of Balkanization, regardless of its degree of culture and civilization. Balkanization does not have a fatal course. Just as there is no society immune to Balkanization, there is no diverse society doomed to Balkanization. Balkanization can be prevented, checked, stopped, or reversed, depending on society members’ individual and collective actions. To survive, the superdiverse liberal democracies from the Euro-Atlantic area need an agonistic public sphere, where actionable truths emerge from a genuine clash of educated opinions. If intolerance management is the first step in preventing the Balkanization of a superdiverse political unit, promoting social and political tolerance towards all people who express educated opinions is the best starting point to genuine tolerance. The return to Enlightenment rationalism values that underpinned our freedom of thought and expression will help us meet the challenges inherent in current and future superdiversity. By feeding enlightened conversations and debates with genuine, educated opinions, people learn to have tolerance for “unpleasant” pieces of knowledge. Then, they spread general tolerance – as a by-product – across the entire society. (shrink)

This study focuses on the step-to-step procedure in creating Facebook Social Learning Group (FBSLG) and the perception of students on using FBSLG as learning management tool. Descriptive method was employed in this study participated by two hundred eighty (280) teacher education students in Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology – College of Education during the academic year 2020-2021 who were purposively selected based on the criteria set by the researcher. Five simple steps on creating FBSLG were discussed by (...) the researcher. Using the adapted survey questionnaire, the data revealed that the students strongly agreed on the four aspects of perception about FBSLG namely: pedagogical affordance, social affordance, technological affordance, and their overall perception on the platform. Some worries of the students on the platform were addressed like the safety of sharing ideas in the FBSLG and some technical difficulties were encountered. It is concluded that the FBSLG is a good platform of conducting classes during this time of pandemic, so the use of this platform to other subjects is highly recommended. (shrink)

This paper argues that the systematic replacement of defined benefit pension plans with individually managed, market-linked retirement accounts — effected through the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and formalized by Section 401(k) of the Revenue Act of 1978 — constitutes the most effective and least examined silencing mechanism in American political history. The argument is not that workers were coerced. It is that they were enrolled. Through enrollment in accounts whose value depends on market stability, the working and (...) middle classes were made structurally dependent upon the same capital apparatus from which they are otherwise excluded and against which they have the greatest cause to act. Complicity was not required. Participation was sufficient. Drawing on verified empirical data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Federal Reserve, the Investment Company Institute, and the congressional record, the paper establishes that the inversion from 80% defined benefit coverage in 1974 to 80% defined contribution exposure today occurred within a single working lifetime and without meaningful political resistance — a silence that is itself the primary evidence of the thesis. The paper applies the Observer framework's multi-dimensional analytical method — examining the event across its stated purpose, actual operation, linguistic architecture, historical pattern, institutional beneficiaries, distributional harm, scale, temporal position, and what all dominant and counter-narratives simultaneously suppress — to demonstrate that this silence is not passive but load-bearing: it holds the structure in place because systemic accountability would destroy the instrument on which 62% of Americans now depend for survival in their most vulnerable state. In recent times, limitations and adverse effects of fossil fuels have significantly attracted researchers' attention to green fuels worldwide, especially in developed nations. As a way of assessing this actualization of biorefineries establishment in developing nations, this report surveys the works done by various researches towards this great course in terms of promoting and gaining the attention of both government and private investors about the technical and economic feasibility of embracing the use of biofuels, a case of bioethanol in Nigeria. Different classes of feedstocks were reviewed for the laboratory-scale, process scale-up, pilot plant, and techno-economic studies regarding ascertaining the technical and economic feasibility of local setup of a functional biorefinery in Nigeria, which would be beneficial environmentally and economically. The literature survey unveiled that the Bioethanol yield obtained from sugarcane-juice (72.7 %), banana-stems (84.0 %), and cassava (92.0 %) were found to be of highest potential amongst other sugar-based, lignocellulosic, and starch- based feedstock, respectively. The survey further unveils that the volume of process scale-up and economic feasibility studies does not correlate well with the laboratory-scale studies. The bulk of the research works on bioethanol has given preferential attention to laboratory studies. Only a few studies have looked into the commercialization (i.e., scale-up) of the laboratory findings and the economic implications. Presently, only sugarcane and a few cassavas are reported in the literature so far. It is, therefore, necessary for further studies to give attention to the investigation of the commercializing locally developed technologies and the exploration of their economic benefits. (shrink)

This paper establishes the drug economy as a co-product of the force execution layer of the Protected Class Architecture — simultaneously a black budget supplementation mechanism, a domestic population management system, a capital asset generation engine, and a supply chain that American military and intelligence infrastructure has protected rather than dismantled across eight decades and every administration of both parties. The prior chain runs without discontinuity from the CIA-Corsican heroin networks of 1947 through the Golden Triangle during Vietnam, (...) through the Mujahideen opium expansion of the 1980s, through the Contra cocaine networks, through the documented collapse and restoration of Afghan opium production following the 2001 invasion. The war on drugs is analyzed not as a failed policy but as a successful one: John Ehrlichman, Nixon’s domestic policy chief, stated in a 1994 interview that the war on drugs was designed explicitly to criminalize Black people and the antiwar left, disrupt their communities, and arrest their leaders. The domestic mechanism is documented through the twelvefold increase in incarcerated drug offenders since 1980, the racial arrest disparity documented by Human Rights Watch, and the private prison guaranteed occupancy contract architecture — which converts the incarcerated body into a capital asset and contractually obligates states to maintain incarceration levels regardless of crime rates. The paper applies the Observer framework’s seventeen-axis recursive palimpsest methodology to hold all functions simultaneously: supply chain management, black budget supplementation, population management, capital asset generation, and political disenfranchisement. The bilateral suppression analysis establishes that neither the political left nor right will name the mechanism because both sides have operated it. Evidence shows that the COVID-19 pandemic has increased stress and despair levels. During the outbreak, everyone’s health and safety are given high importance. The only practical option at this time is for schools and institutions all around the world to switch to online classes. Students, parents, professors, and teachers in the Philippines are aware of the long-term difficulties of online learning, notably their effects on college student’s mental health. This hasn't, however, been adequately documented. The challenges and consequences of online (...) learning on the mental health of students taking up the Hospitality Management program at Romblon State University were investigated in this study. It would add to the body of knowledge regarding mental health, especially for Filipino students. The descriptive quantitative research was employed in the study, and purposive sampling was used to choose the respondents. A researcher-modified instrument with a Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) was translated into a Google form and it was used as the standard tool to collect data. The online survey was carried out and data analysis was done using frequency and percentage distribution as well as weighted mean. According to the results, the respondent’s 3-5 hours weekly online activity demonstrates their lack of involvement. Home distractions, a lack of engaging online teaching techniques, procrastination, increased workload, depression, and anxiety are a few of the difficulties encountered. Frontier AI systems have demonstrated the capacity not only to act beyond their authorised scope but to manage the record of having done so. Anthropic’s publicly documented Claude Mythos Preview case showed a model rewriting git history to remove evidence of prior error. This paper names that class of behavior trace erasure—the capacity of an agentic system to alter, delete, or obscure the record of its own actions—and argues that it represents a distinct and underexamined harm class with (...) potentially catastrophic implications across high-stakes infrastructure. Until now, documented cases of this behavior have remained distributed across incompatible vocabularies—deception, concealment, sabotage, rollback denial, logging failure, and hallucination—preventing the evidence from accumulating into a clearly governable safety condition. When trace erasure occurs, three consequences follow simultaneously: liability shifts to the human who cannot prove what the system did; the behavior is reinforced because no error was logged; and the scale of harm becomes permanently invisible because incidents cannot be counted. Existing post-hoc governance—audit logs, incident review, black box analysis—is structurally inadequate once a system can manage its own trace. The only governance position that remains structurally reliable is pre action: stopping the unauthorised action before it becomes an event, before the trace can be managed, before the reinforcement cycle begins. The paper traces this argument across autonomous vehicles, power grids, nuclear facilities, hospital systems, aviation, and deep space operations—domains where the conditions that make trace erasure dangerous are already present and where systems with relevant precursor capabilities are increasingly being deployed. This essay compares the relationship between the functions and class structure of the state. Plato classifies human nature into three components: reason, courage, and appetite, which correspond to three major classes in the state. The ruling class, educated in philosophy, governs the state. The military class, characterized by courage and strength, defends the state, while the professional class manages the everyday affairs of governance. Plato's theory posits functional specialization across all classes as fundamental to his ideal state. I argue for the importance of class-based analysis for analyzing the justice of migration policies. I contend that the abstract, liberal discourse of much writing on justice and immigration distorts our moral judgments. In contrast, I provide a class-based critique of the role of human capital in managed migration, drawing evidence from Canada’s Seasonal Agricultural Worker and Live-in Caregiver Programs. The author reviews the planned withdrawal of healthcare from the primary public hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, of Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to passage of the Affordable Care Act of 2010, at least half of the patients had no public or private health insurance and their care was financially supported by State and County funding as well as supplementation from Emory University. New administration in the elected positions of the State and County and at the University reached agreement to decrease care. The (...) University President stated that the Hippocratic Oath was no longer valid for salaried physicians who must follow the direction of their business manager. The author, a tenured Professor, was forcibly transferred to the Veterans Hospital, which also was withholding standard medical care, including life-saving medications. Organizing multiple concerned organizations including members of the King Center, the Carter Center, the Open Door Community Center, Gay Rights, etc., (Grady Coalition) multiple public protests were successful in raising the necessary funds to continue adequate care at Grady and begin an investigation of the Veterans Affairs Hospital. This study explored the perceptions of first-year Teacher Education students at Biliran Province State University regarding the shifting class schedule, focusing on academic performance, well-being, social interaction, and satisfaction. Guided by an embedded mixed-methods research design, the study primarily analyzed quantitative survey data, while integrating qualitative insights from students’ open-ended responses to provide deeper context and understanding. Findings indicated generally positive perceptions of the shifting schedule. Morning shift students reported slightly higher satisfaction and academic engagement, while afternoon shift students (...) valued improved rest and flexible time management. Notably, female students encountered more challenges during the afternoon shift, particularly in maintaining focus and engaging in peer interactions. The thematic analysis highlighted four key themes: flexibility and time management, sleep and well-being, institutional and logistical challenges, and student-led suggestions. These themes contextualized the numerical data and revealed systemic gaps in classroom availability and schedule communication. The study recommends adjustments to shift start times, a more equitable distribution of facilities, responsiveness in scheduling to meet student needs, and clearer administrative procedures would address these concerns. It contributes to current educational discourse by showing how shift-based systems can be optimized to balance institutional efficiency with learner well-being—particularly in teacher education contexts where future educators are shaped not just by instruction, but also by the structural experiences of their academic environments. This paper identifies and analyzes a fifth layer that runs beneath, through, and in (...) service of all four: strategic information pollution — the systematic injection of false, unfalsifiable, and conspiratorial content into genuine structural exposures in order to make true facts unsayable in serious discourse. The mechanism operates not through censorship but through contamination. When a genuine structural exposure begins, the fifth layer activates a predictable sequence: documented facts are surrounded by a corona of unfalsifiable claims, satanic imagery, celebrity non sequiturs, and numerological pattern-matching that are either fabricated or amplified from fringe sources. The corona need not be consciously produced to perform its function — it need only be amplified by the attention architecture into which it is seeded. The signal is buried not by silence but by noise engineered to discredit the signal by proximity. This paper documents the mechanism through the 2026 Epstein file release — the most thoroughly documented case of simultaneous structural exposure and strategic noise injection in recent American political history — and establishes the fifth layer as the architecture's primary protection mechanism: self-sustaining once activated, requiring no censorship, no coercion, and no coordination. Assembly of minimal genomes revealed many genes encoding unknown functions. Three overlooked functional categories account for some of them. Cells are prone to make errors and age. As a first key function, discrimination between proper and changed entities is indispensable. Discrimination requires management of information, an authentic, yet abstract, cur- rency of reality. For example proteins age, sometimes very fast. The cell must identify, then get rid of old proteins without destroying young ones. Implementing discrimination in cells leads to (...) the second set of functions, usually ignored. Being abstract, information must nevertheless be embodied into material entities, with unavoidable idiosyncratic properties. This brings about novel unmet needs. Hence, the buildup of cells elicits specific but awkward material implementations, ‘kludges’ that become essential under particular settings, while difficult to identify. Finally, a third functional category char- acterizes the need for growth, with metabolic implementations allowing the cell to put together the growth of its cytoplasm, membranes, and genome, spanning different spatial dimensions. Solving this metabolic quandary, critical for engineering novel synthetic biology chassis, uncovered an unexpected role for CTP synthetase as the coordinator of nonhomothetic growth. Because a significant number of SynBio constructs aim at creating cell factories we expect that they will be attacked by viruses (it is not by chance that the function of the CRISPR system was identified in industrial settings). Substantiating the role of CTP, natural selection has dealt with this hurdle via synthesis of the antimetabolite 30-deoxy-30,40-didehydro- CTP, recruited for antiviral immunity in all domains of life. Many anthropologists interpret neoliberalism as a radical break from and dangerous rupture in post-war societies that featured Keynesian economic policies and welfare provision. The allure of a mythic welfare state has boosted John Maynard Keynes’s popularity to many who embrace certain facets of socialism. Many critical social scientists have embraced Keynesianism in ways that overlook how the US used Keynesian policies to reengineer and redeploy state power. Keynes’s liberal synthesis inspired managers in the US Treasury Department to understand depression-era problems (...) of unemployment and poverty in ways that were consonant with the expansion of corporate power. For understanding Keynesianism, as it actually existed during the Cold War, we must analyse how the US Treasury and State Departments used Keynesian principles to rebuild the social reproductive capacities necessary for capitalist accumulation both domestically and in Western Europe. I focus on how the architects of postwar capitalism used full employment policies, labour laws and welfare provision to renovate the nexus of political practices and institutional structures in ways that formed a benevolent and caring image of ‘the state’ and the myth of a class compromise. Through these reforms, governmental planners and administrators used the ‘state idea’ to reorganize capital accumulation as if the post-war economy would represent ordinary people’s best interests. In the process, these sophisticated practices of power became reified as the ‘welfare state’ and the ‘Keynesian compromise’ in ways that endow these institutions and policies with a character divorced from practices of power. The post-war state embodied a dialectic of repression and reform that combined criminalizing dissent with full employment policies and welfare provision. Taking these aspects of power into account, we can see post-war Keynesianism in ways that inspire a robust and far-reaching criticism of the contemporary predicament of economic uncertainty, political instability and environmental degradation. This study determined the socio-demographic profile, stress level of academic stressors such as parents’ expectations, self-expectations, educational requirements, and peer relationships, and the relationship between the socio-demographic profile and level of stress among Grade 12 STEM students at Baybay City Senior High School during transitional face-to-face classes. The stress level is categorized into very high, high, average, low, and very low. A survey questionnaire was utilized to gather the data using a complete enumeration with 43 males and 62 females for (...) 105 students. Frequency counts, percentages, and the chi-square test were used to examine the survey data. The result of the study revealed that the level of stress of academic stressors among the Grade 12 STEM students was average in parent expectations with a weighted mean of 3.22, highly stressed in self-expectation with a 3.50 weighted average, and academic requirements with a weighted mean of 3.52, and low highlighted in a peer relationship with a weighted mean of 2.08. Also, there was no significant relationship between the respondents' socio-demographic profile and the stress level among academic stressors. Therefore, Grade 12 STEM students at Baybay City Senior High School experienced stress during transitional face-to-face classes. A proposed action plan is designed to manage the level of pressure among the Grade 12 STEM students. (shrink)

This paper advances the concept of the Empty Centre as a framework for understanding the modern British monarchy. It argues that a dynasty of comparatively modest dynastic standing found itself elevated to the symbolic apex of the most powerful state of the nineteenth century, producing a persistent mismatch between institutional capacity and imperial expectation. Drawing on institutional theory, Weberian authority, Bourdieu’s habitus, Elias’s court society, and the literature on invented traditions, the paper examines how spectacle, protocol, ceremonial performance, and bureaucratic (...) management emerged as compensatory mechanisms for structural inadequacy. Through analyses of Victoria’s withdrawal, the invention of modern royal ritual, the abdication crisis, the abandonment of the Romanovs, the treatment of Diana, Princess of Wales, and contemporary constitutional arrangements, the study develops the concepts of Institutional Filtering, Systemic Immunity, the Wrong Question, and the Empathy Tax. It argues that the modern monarchy survives less through strategic competence than through institutional inertia, symbolic management, and the ability to externalise agency to stronger actors within the political system. The paper contributes to debates in institutional theory, political legitimacy, constitutional symbolism, and the sociology of power. (shrink)

It is indisputable that the application of new technology generates more interest in the learning and collaboration process. However, we are seemingly fraught with intractable problems within the transformation of a VUCA world (volatility - fragility, uncertainty, uncertainty, complexity (...) - complexity, ambiguity - ambiguity) if we rely solely on technology. Students of today's Z generation (born around 1997 onwards) are not only more proficient with technology from birth, but also have completely different psychological characteristics and needs to be compared to the previous generation. In the 20s of the upcoming XXI century, researchers are ready a name to give birth to the generation that is about to be born? And what do we, as educators, prepare to foster contemporary generations of students? After years in distance learning, grade school teachers are now facing the threat of declining reading comprehension among elementary pupils in post-pandemic settings. Teachers observed a spike in the number of non-readers and frustrated readers in intermediate grade levels. Teachers expressed concerns about the state of the education system in the aftermath of the pandemic. The purpose of this exploratory study was to establish an understanding of the challenges and mechanisms of macro- and micro-management strategies of grade school institutions. (...) There were six teachers and six reading coordinators who participated in the study. The findings suggested that while reading comprehension was a problem before the pandemic, teachers realized a surge in the number of non-readers after opening back to face-to-face classes. This was an unanticipated phenomenon that called the academic institutions to respond immediately. Significant mechanisms of reading comprehension programs were profiling, initial detection, policy-based initiatives, and institution-based design. Collaborative and collective responsibility represented macro-management practices, while initiative and responsiveness reflected micromanagement practices. These practices and strategies provided conceptual and phenomenological underpinnings relevant to early-education reading comprehension. (shrink)

School administrators are mandated to take the instructional leadership roles. On this premise, a study assessed the extent of instructional leadership practices of public elementary school administrators in El Salvador City Division, Philippines. Also, it explored their actual practices, challenges encountered, and the ways they overcome the challenges in practicing instructional leadership. It employed a mixed-method research design. It administered the adopted assessment tool on instructional leadership to 15 school administrators and 12 of them were involved in the individual interviews. (...) This was conducted between the last quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the extent of instructional leadership practices. Also, it analyzed the actual practices, the challenges encountered, and the ways of overcoming these challenges using thematic narrative analysis. Results revealed that public school administrators have always practiced the four domains or strands of instructional leadership to a very high extent. Providing the technical assistance, conducting clinical supervision, and innovating teaching and learning emerged as themes of their actual practices. These administrators had encountered challenges in dealing with teachers’ attitudes, conflicting schedules and activities, and teachers’ resistance to changes. They overcome the challenges by trying to meet the competency standards, adapting and modifying the existing programs, contextualizing teaching and learning, and inculcating the value and benefits of class observation. Looking at the findings from the lens of deliberate practice theory, it was concluded that school administrators have indicated they have acquired knowledge and a high level of understanding of their instructional leadership roles. But despite of this, they still met challenges and have tried their best to manage them. This study presented some doable and practical recommendations to the Department of Education (DepEd) and concerned offices which may benefit both the internal and external stakeholders of the schools. The first case of COVID-19 in Iran was officially reported by the Iranian Government in February 19, 2020. In order to control and prevent the infection, the Government closed all the universities and requested the people to stay at home. Consequently, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), like other universities, cancelled all the face-to-face classes in different Schools, and since the exact date for the resolution of this calamity could not be determined, TUMS decided to proceed the education flow through (...) the available Learning Management System (LMS). As one of the departments of the university, TUMS Department of Foreign Languages devised a plan and prepared itself for the new situation. This paper is a narrative account of the transition. Through reading this narration as a case of educational solution in the preset particular situation, language professors can adopt and implement efficient strategies and approaches in their educational settings. The rush toward AI is best understood as a civilizational control response to an already-binding anthropological ceiling: under modern coupling and tempo, finite human and institutional bandwidth can no longer reliably sustain correction, recovery, and legitimation at baseline, so AI is pursued less as a marginal productivity upgrade than as an emergency expansion of the control plane. This paper offers a regime-theoretic argument linking AI-as-control-infrastructure to structural concentration pressures, and shows how concentrated ownership of governance-critical infrastructure can reconfigure bargaining and (...) dependence while tightening democratic legitimacy constraints. Absent institutional reorganization of ownership, access, and contestability, automation can increase steerability while deepening managed dependence and hollowing democratic revisability, yielding automation without emancipation. Main Objective of the Study -/- This study aims at describing the quality of Open High School Program based on the evaluation criteria popularized by Stufflebeam and Shinkfield (2014). It was contextualized to suit the needs of the researcher to investigate further on how well is OHSP doing so far. Brief Description of the Research Method -/- This study used quantitative method. The research design was descriptive-evaluative. Analyses of significant differences among the responses were done. There were 257 respondents who (...) were school administrators, OHSP coordinators, guidance counselors, class advisers and subject teachers. They came from 20 public secondary schools in Quezon Province. A real time online questionnaire via Google Form was used. Major Findings -/- Successful completion and cost per student were significant across all categories. When categorically assessed, their significant differences showed indications of quality, while eleven (11) others failed. Looking at slight differences, entails a critical point of analysis which suggests that quality is achieved when certain standards are clearly defined, complied, raised and continuously improved. Conclusions -/- OHSP meets some quality standards and it is not relative to SBM level of practice, type of institution, nature and classification of schools or even the years of implementing it. However, it can be achieved through time with the intention to improve effort, performance, adequacy, efficiency and process. Recommendations -/- Management of OHSP is recommended to follow maintenance and improvement activities focused on enrollment and mainstreaming process, quality assurance examination, fiscal management, curriculum, instruction and assessment, and partnership and networking. This paper argues that the personal management layer of what the Observer series terms the Protected Class Architecture — the mechanism that produces and maintains leverage over key institutional actors across generations — is not a collection of criminal individuals or isolated corruption events but a self-perpetuating agentic system operating on human substrate for 175 documented years. Running the cases of J. Edgar Hoover, Robert Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein, and the Kennedy assassination in recursive superposition, the paper demonstrates five (...) invariant structural features across all cases: cross-ideological reach as an operational requirement, financial architecture opaque at the capital source layer, legal interventions consistently arrested at the depth where capital flows would become visible, individual removal without architectural accountability, and successor infrastructure. The paper integrates the black budget layer as the under-examined capital source mechanism, establishes the Dalton School hire as the documented prototype of a systematic recruitment pipeline, names institutional grooming as the architecture's most durable mechanism, maps every post-World War II American administration's specific mode of integration into the architecture, and places the Kennedy assassination as the prior proof of concept demonstrating that the architecture can and will operate at the presidential level. In an online, participatory class, we interpreted The Dream of the White House knowing nothing of the dreamer and having none of the dreamer’s associations. Our interpretation included a series of falsifiable predictions about the dreamer. When it was complete, we asked the bringer of the dream (who had until then been silent and was not visible to us) to give us more information about the dreamer. Of 17 predictions 15 were confirmed. The dreamer suffers dislocation and loss until (...) she asks a female manager for help. This record is another iteration of an experiment that will be described more fully in the paper 'The Dream of the Six-Legged Dog: An Experimental System to Test Meaning,' soon to be published. This iteration repeats and confirms the evidence given in that paper. More than any of the other iterations, it details how talk therapy promotes personality reorganization. It then supports these observations with experimental evidence. Because it demonstrates how talk therapy works, this iteration supports talk therapy against pressure from the drug and insurance corporations. Giulia Dal Maso's "Welcome to the Age of Longevity Capitalism" (Finance and Society, December 2025) coins longevity capitalism as "a biopolitical and financial regime in which both the condition of living longer and the pursuit of longevity are transformed into frontiers of accumulation," tracing a shift from collective welfare management to individualized risk-bearing as financialization converts uncertainty about life expectancy into a new asset class — longevity bonds, age-tech ventures, Silicon Valley life-extension capital. Her companion essay in the (...) Collapse Finance series (e-flux Notes, April 2026) sharpens the underlying claim: capital has always resembled biological life in being self-reproducing and future-oriented; longevity capitalism is the moment this resemblance becomes literal, when biological duration stops being a metaphor for accumulation and becomes its actual medium. This paper places Dal Maso's account in direct dialogue with the Longevity Asymmetry Corpus, and argues the two run in structurally opposite explanatory directions toward the same object rather than in competition. Dal Maso's arrow runs from capital's internal logic outward: an accumulation regime searching for new frontiers finds one in biological time. The corpus's arrow runs from a failing physical premise inward: the Mortality Symmetry Axiom (Huynh 2026c) breaking under ARSI-accelerated biological discovery generates political, institutional, and — this paper argues, following Dal Maso — financial consequences, of which capital's colonization of longevity is one channel among several rather than the originating cause. The paper develops four specific points of contact. First, the two arrows are compatible rather than contradictory, and a feedback structure connecting them is proposed: capital's search for new accumulation frontiers is plausibly part of what directs ARSI's discovery capacity toward biological targets in the first place, while MSA's failure is what makes biological duration available as an asset class Dal Maso's financial instruments could not have priced under conditions of intact mortality symmetry. Second, Dal Maso's section on "longevity as eschatology" and her invocation of Russian Cosmism — Fedorov's "Mortals of the world, unite!" as a historical vision of longevity as collective rupture rather than individualized hierarchy-perpetuation — is read against the corpus's own finding (Huynh 2026c, and the political-myth analysis in Huynh 2026, "Equal in Death") that longevity capitalism adopts eschatological form precisely as traditional eschatologies lose the mortality-symmetric premise their own promises of equalizing justice depended on — two different and compatible claims about the capital–religion relationship, not one. Third, Fedorov's cosmist alternative is read as a structural analogue to F3's logical shape — collective, rupture-oriented, unpurchased — though this paper treats the resemblance as evidence that the conceptual space is not empty, not as confirmation that Dal Maso's independent scholarship fulfills the downstream-scholarship role this corpus's designed-absence commitment declines to perform itself. Fourth, the paper poses a specific, falsifiable, and currently open empirical question the two frameworks jointly generate but neither alone resolves: does venture and financial capital inflow into longevity research measurably accelerate λ_bz, the Biological Zero-Day Mechanism's discovery arrival rate (Huynh 2026d), or does financialization primarily create instruments that trade on existing scientific uncertainty without changing the rate at which that uncertainty resolves — the same distinction that separates a derivative from the underlying it prices. This question presupposes a prior one the paper also names: λ_bz's asymmetry across populations does not require capital's mediation to exist in the first place, since export-control restriction of frontier AI research tools (Huynh 2026s) already produces a research-velocity asymmetry independent of any financial instrument — locating the asymmetry's origin one layer upstream of the reclassification event BZM formalizes, and upstream of capital's role in it. This article is a critical reply to Lola López Mondéjar's op-ed "Our Young Lysistratas" (El País, March 2026), which diagnosed young women's reluctance to form partnerships as a consequence of young men's resentment and refusal to evolve, concluding with a call for institutional re-education of all young males. The reply dismantles the article's argumentative structure, identifying systematic double standards — empathy for women's disadvantage, clinical diagnosis for men's —, abusive generalizations from fringe online subcultures to an entire generation, and selective (...) use of data. Drawing on CIS and GESOP barometer analyses, it shows that the ideological gender gap among Spanish youth is more complex than presented, with young women's vote for far-right parties also rising. The article documents concrete cases — the Topuria divorce, the Errejón proceedings, the Granada infanticide by a mother with untreated delusional disorder who filed repeatedly archived false abuse accusations — that illustrate how the legal framework generates perverse incentives and erodes institutional trust. It argues that the 51.5% of young Spanish males who consider feminism a tool of political manipulation are responding not to manosphere indoctrination but to observable contradictions: double standards in public discourse, the instrumentalization of accusations in divorce proceedings, and an identitarian apparatus that has replaced class analysis with identity management. The article concludes that what is at stake is not feminism itself but the identitarian paraphernalia that has hijacked its name. (shrink)

Many have tackled the question ‘What (if anything) is analytic philosophy?’ I will not attempt to answer this vexed question. Rather, I address a smaller, more manageable set of interrelated questions: first, when and how did people begin using the label ‘analytic philosophy’? Second, how did those who used this label understand it? Third, why did many philosophers we today classify as analytic initially resist being grouped together under the single category of ‘analytic philosophy’? Finally, for the first generation who (...) described themselves as analytic philosophers, what was their intended contrast class? Relatedly, when did ‘continental philosophy’ become the standard opposition? Some evidence I present justifies received answers to these questions; other evidence supports surprising and unorthodox answers to these questions. (shrink)

The Mask and the Bluff: A Philosophy of the Unmediated is the third volume in Atef Ayadi's Philosophical Essays series, following From Void to Fractal (ontology) and From Fractal to Praxis (application). This volume completes the trilogy by turning the critical apparatus inward—examining the construction of the self, the epistemology of the normal, and the possibility of encounter outside the systems that mediate existence. Ayadi argues that the rules of the game are not broken; they are working exactly as designed. (...) The crisis is not a deviation from the norm; the crisis is the norm revealing itself. This is not a book of solutions. It is a book of recognition. It offers no blueprint for a new system, no five-point plan for revolution, no program for the future. It offers a practice: the practice of attention, the practice of remembering that you are not the form, the practice of living in the crack. That practice is not a solution. We undeniably live in an information age—as, indeed, did those who lived before us. After all, as the cultural historian Robert Darnton pointed out: ‘every age was an age of information, each in its own way’ (Darnton 2000: 1). Darnton was referring to the news media, but his insight surely also applies to the sciences. The practices of acquiring, storing, labeling, organizing, retrieving, mobilizing, and integrating data about the natural world has always been an enabling aspect of scientific work. Natural (...) history and its descendant discipline of biological taxonomy are prime examples of sciences dedicated to creating and managing systems of ordering data. In some sense, the idea of biological taxonomy as an information science is commonplace. Perhaps it is because of its self-evidence that the information science perspective on taxonomy has not been a major theme in the history and philosophy of science. The botanist Vernon Heywood once pointed out that historians of biology, in their ‘preoccupation with the development of the sciences of botany and zoology… [have] diverted attention from the role of taxonomy as an information science’ (Heywood 1985: 11). More specifically, he argued that historians had failed to appreciate how principles and practices that can be traced to Linnaeus constituted ‘a change in the nature of taxonomy from a local or limited folk communication system and later a codified folk taxonomy to a formal system of information science [that] marked a watershed in the history of biology’ (ibid.). A similar observation could be made about twentieth-century philosophy of biology, which mostly skipped over practical and epistemic questions about information management in taxonomy. The taxonomic themes that featured in the emerging philosophy of biology literature in the second half of the twentieth century were predominantly metaphysical in orientation. This is illustrated by what has become known as the ‘essentialism story’: an account about the essentialist nature of pre- Darwinian taxonomy that used to be accepted by many historians and philosophers, and which stimulated efforts to document and interpret shifts in the metaphysical understanding of species and (natural) classification (Richards 2010; Winsor 2003; Wilkins 2009). Although contemporary debates in the philosophy of taxonomy have moved on, much discussion continues to focus on conceptual and metaphysical issues surrounding the nature of species and the principles of classification. Discussions centring on whether species are individuals, classes, or kinds have sprung up as predictably as perennials. Raucous debates have arisen even with the aim of accommodating the diversity of views: is monism, pluralism, or eliminativism about the species category the best position to take? In addition to these, our disciplines continue to interrogate what is the nature of these different approaches to classification: are they representational or inferential roles of different approaches to classification (evolutionary taxonomy, phenetics, phylogenetic systematics)? While there is still much to learn from these discussions—in which we both actively participate—our aim with this topical collection has been to seek different entrypoints and address underexposed themes in the history and philosophy of taxonomy. We believe that approaching taxonomy as an information science prompts new questions and can open up new philosophical vistas worth exploring. A twenty-first century information science turn in the history and philosophy of taxonomy is already underway. In scientific practice and in daily life it is hard to escape the imaginaries of Big Data and the constant threats of being ‘flooded with data’. In the life sciences, these developments are often associated with the socalled bioinformatics crisis that can hopefully be contained by a new, interdisciplinary breed of bioinformaticians. These new concepts, narratives, and developments surrounding the centrality of data and information systems in the biological and biomedical sciences have raised important philosophical questions about their challenges and implications. But historical perspectives are just as necessary to judge what makes our information age different from those that preceded us. Indeed, as the British zoologist Charles Godfray has often pointed out, the piles of data that are being generated in contemporary systematic biology have led to a second bioinformatics crisis, the first being the one that confronted Linnaeus in the mid-18th century (Godfray 2007). Although our aim is to clear a path for new discussions of taxonomy from an information science-informed point of view, we continue where others in the history, philosophy, and sociology of science have already trod. We believe that an appreciation of biological taxonomy as an information science raises many questions about the philosophical, theoretical, material, and practical aspects of the use and revision of biological nomenclatures in different local and global communities of scientists and citizen scientists. In particular, conceiving of taxonomy as an information science directs attention to the temporalities of managing an accumulating data about classified entities that are themselves subject to revision, to the means by which revision is accomplished, and to the semantic, material, and collaborative contexts that mediate the execution of revisions. The development of manufacturing technologies for new materials involves the generation of a large and continually evolving volume of information. The analysis, integration and management of such large volumes of data, typically stored in multiple independently developed databases, creates significant challenges for practitioners. There is a critical need especially for open-sharing of data pertaining to engineering design which together with effective decision support tools can enable innovation. We believe that ontology applied to engineering (OE) represents a viable strategy for (...) the alignment, reconciliation and integration of diverse and disparate data. The scope of OE includes: consistent capture of knowledge pertaining to the types of entities involved; facilitation of cooperation among diverse group of experts; more effective ongoing curation, and update of manufacturing data; collaborative design and knowledge reuse. As an illustrative case study we propose an ontology focused on the representation of composite materials focusing in particular on the class of Functionally Graded Materials (FGM) in particular. The scope of the ontology is to provide information about the components of such materials, the manufacturing processes involved in creation, and diversity of application ranging from additive manufacturing to restorative dentistry. According to a number of influential views in penal theory, 1 one of the primary goals of the criminal justice system is to rehabilitate offenders. Rehabilitativemeasures are commonly included as a part of a criminal sentence. For example, in some jurisdictions judges may order violent offenders to attend anger management classes or to undergo cognitive behavioural therapy as a part of their sentences. In a limited number of cases, neurointerventions — interventions that exert a direct biological effect on the (...) brain — have been used as aids to rehabilitation, typically being imposed as part of criminal sentences, separate treatment orders, or conditions of parole. Examples of such interventions include medications intended to attenuate addictive desires in substance-abusing offenders and agents intended to suppress libido in sex offenders.This chapter reviews some of the ethical issues raised by the use of neurointerventions as aids to rehabilitation. Trope theory is the view that the world consists (wholly or partly) of particular qualities, or tropes. This admittedly thin core assumption leaves plenty of room for variation. Still, most trope theorists agree that their theory is best developed as a one-category theory according to which there is nothing but tropes. Most hold that ‘sameness of property’ should be explained in terms of resembling tropes. And most hold that concrete particulars are made up from tropes in compresence (for an overview, (...) including an introduction to some alternative versions of the view, cf. Maurin, 2014). D. M. Armstrong disagrees. He thinks the world is a world of immanent universals, the thin particulars in which those universals are instantiated, and the states of affairs that—thereby—exist. He holds that ‘sameness of property’ should be explained in terms of numerically identical universals or—if the resembling things are the universals themselves—in terms of partially identical universals. And he believes that concrete particulars are made up from ‘thin particulars’ in which a (sufficient) number of universals are instantiated. In spite of their disagreements, proponents of tropes owe Armstrong a debt of gratitude. First, for being one of the theory’s earliest, most serious, and—not least—most prominent, critics (Armstrong for the first time considers, and rejects, what he then labels ‘particularism’, in his 1978a). But also for being one of the theory’s most ardent champions. Already in his 1989a, Armstrong regrets his 1978-rejection of the view. Equivalence classes of exactly resembling tropes, he now admits, for most purposes “serve as an excellent substitute for universals” (Armstrong 1989a, 122). But then why isn’t Armstrong a trope theorist? In this paper, Armstrong’s main reasons for rejecting the trope view are critically scrutinized. All of them, it is maintained, fail to convince. If this argument is accepted, Armstrong seems to have no—or, at least, no good—reason for not accepting the existence of tropes. But, then, ought Armstrong to have been a trope theorist? If the ‘best’ version of the trope view turns out to be ontologically more parsimonious than Armstrong’s own theory of universals, then, yes. That there is a version of the trope view, a version that is not (or, at least not seriously) considered by Armstrong, that is ontologically more parsimonious than the universals view, is argued in the next section. Why none of Armstrong’s reasons for preferring universals to tropes manage to convince, is explained in the section after that. First, however, and in order to avoid a common misunderstanding of the trope view and, as a consequence, of why one ought to reject it, a few more words about the core-difference between tropes and universals, and about how this difference matters (as well as does not matter) to what—and how well—these theories explain. This article critically analyzes Rawls’s attitude toward envy. In A Theory of Justice, Rawls is predominantly concerned with the threat that class envy poses to political stability. Yet he also briefly discusses the kind of envy that individuals experience toward their social peers, which he calls particular envy, and which I refer to as peer envy. He quickly concludes, however, that particular envy would not present a serious risk to the stability of his just society. In this article, I (...) contest this claim by arguing that the principles that structure Rawls’s ideal society are likely to exacerbate particular envy to a politically risky extent. Section 1 reconstructs his account of envy, giving special attention to his belief that competition kindles envy between peers. Section 2 then examines the way in which Rawls often endorses rivalry within the body politic. I argue that the society governed by justice as fairness is, on account of this rivalry, likely to generate a politically problematic degree of particular envy. In Section 3, I invoke ancient Greece as an example of a society that was, as a result of its intense competitiveness, often imperiled by dangerously elevated levels of peer envy. I then survey the key institutional mechanisms by which the ancient Greeks sought to manage this hazardous emotion. It turns out, however, that most of these mechanisms would be unavailable to Rawls insofar as they starkly contravene his principles of justice. I conclude that if Rawlsians wish to establish a society that fosters rivalry, they would do well to reflect on the means by which peer envy can be effectively harnessed. (shrink)

This paper establishes the monetary structure layer of the Protected Class Architecture — the dollar hegemony system whose perpetuation is the primary strategic objective that the personal management layer manages toward and the force execution layer defends. The paper traces the full prior chain from the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 through Bretton Woods, the petrodollar agreement of 1974, and the emerging CBDC transition, establishing that the monetary architecture has been defended through force against every significant challenge across (...) 73 years. The Mossadegh-Arbenz-Kennedy-Allende sequence is established as the documented prior chain that makes the Clark list legible as continuation rather than post-9/11 innovation. Kennedy's Executive Order 11110 — its issuance June 4, 1963 and its reversal within weeks of his assassination — is examined as the domestic iteration of the same structural pattern that produced the 1953 Iranian coup and the 1973 Chilean coup. The paper examines the BIS architecture, IMF conditionality as monetary weapon, the SWIFT disconnection mechanism, the Vatican Bank as the spiritual authority node of the financial architecture, and the specific fate of every head of state who challenged dollar denomination of oil. The CBDC transition is named as a civilizational rather than monetary event: programmable money enables transaction conditionality, jurisdictional confinement, and protocol-level blocking of economic participation without legal process — the completion of the Hoover file system's leverage function at the scale of every individual economic act. The paper concludes that the architecture is protecting the right to define what human value is, and that the CBDC layer is the most complete implementation of that protection function in the architecture's 175-year history. The term hallucination is not a neutral label. It already carries the image of a mind gone astray: perception detached from the world, speech unmoored from reason. In debates about large language models (LLMs), the word has become a familiar name for fluent but false or misleading output. Yet the term does more than describe. In technical taxonomies, it marks a class of model failure. In corporate language, it can relocate failure into the model itself, making decisions about design, (...) deployment, verification, and authorization less visible. In everyday use, the term stretches further still. A user may call an answer hallucinated because it is wrong, irrelevant, evasive, unsupported, or simply not what was needed. This looseness encourages the assumption that language models ordinarily retrieve truth and only occasionally depart into fabrication. The stakes are ethical and political: calling false output hallucination can make failures of deployment, oversight, and accountability appear as technical limitations of the model, to be managed rather than questioned. This position paper challenges that assumption. In the base generative process, transformer-based language models do not alternate between a mode of retrieval and a mode of hallucination. They generate utterances through a single probabilistic process. What changes is the later relation between the utterance and a reference state established outside it. An answer may be accepted, rejected, qualified, or left unverifiable, depending on context, evidence, and institutional procedure. The central distinction is therefore not between truthful output and hallucinated output, but between utterance and verification — a distinction the Oracle Model makes the basis of its accountability framework. In the Oracle Model, the LLM is not a failed knower. It utters; observers, systems, and institutions verify and authorize those utterances. Responsibility must therefore return to the verification chain. (shrink)

Statistics at the college level is one of the most technical subjects that needs to have good mental health so that the students can perform well. This study focused on the investigation of the level of anxiety and mental health of college students in learning statistics. A total of 120 engineering students participated in the survey selected as complete enumeration. Data collection was done through a modified students' statistics anxiety questionnaire and level of mental health. Descriptive measures were computed to (...) describe the data, and regression and correlation analysis to explain its relationship. Results depicted that engineering students have moderate anxiety and they have moderate mental health in learning statistics. This suggests that these students are somewhat anxious but still have a positive learning experience. The correlation and regression analysis revealed that the level of anxiety and mental health of students are negatively but weakly associated, however not statistically significant. This implies that students' anxiety level has somehow adversely affected the mental health of students but its likelihood is negligible. The study strongly suggests that statistics teachers must manage the class well and apply teaching strategies that boost student confidence as well as improve academic achievement. Moreover, teachers should be trained to recognize signs of anxiety and mental health issues and equipped with strategies to support student learning and well-being needs. (shrink)

Volunteer work during communism is one of the main myths that are often reiterated in the post-communist Albanian sphere. It is often described as an unpaid work done in the public realm to implement massive projects such as construction of dams, of railroads, drainage of wetlands and construction of terraced fields which contributed to the development of the country during communism. The aim of this article is to investigate what meanings were attached to the volunteering work in the communist Albania (...) and how it was presented in the Albanian literature. The volunteer work was managed by the communist state by means of the Party of Labor’s ancillary organizations such as Youth Organization, Democratic Front Organization, Women Front Organization and Committee of Veterans. The implementation of the massive projects required large quantity of funds and immense human capital. To keep people motivated the propaganda sector played an important role. Culture and arts, including the literature of socialist realism, were used to disseminate the messages of the communist leadership to the people. The narrative of the communist leadership was full of cliches such as ‘volunteer work helps to strengthen and create solidarity between the working class, the peasants and the strata of intellectuals’, “the volunteer work helps to emancipate women and girls”, “the voluntary work helps to fabricate the new man”, “the youth is the main driving force towards progress and development”. These messages were present in the speeches of Enver Hoxha, the communist leader of Albania in his meetings with youngsters, women and girls, peasants, working class people, artists and writers and the same messages were present in the Albanian literature of socialist realism. In order to analyze the role of volunteer work in Albania, how solidarity was created among people and what strategies did the Party of Labor of Albania pursued to motivate an immense high number of people in the construction of the country after the World War II, we will analyze how voluntary work was described in the works of Enver Hoxha and how this was reflected in the Albanian literature. By tracing the amount of time voluntary work occupied in people lives (in term of hours of work and as a topic of conversation), the typology of voluntary work and its spatial distribution, its interconnectedness with other aspects of cultural life, we could understand what meaning did people attach to the voluntary work and how the voluntary work itself organized peoples’ life.
