Abstract

Subject-position is rendered here as the locally maintained point of bearing within conscious disclosure from which what appears is lived as present from here rather than merely present. Against familiar misdescriptions that treat this from-here-ness as an inner ego, explicit self- consciousness, autobiographical selfhood, bodily location, or mere perspective, the paper isolates subject-position as a distinct structural object. It develops the claim that subject- position is generated when a finite field of disclosure achieves enough coherence, recursive carry, bounded differentiation, and orientation for what appears to be borne under a stable relation of mineness and significance. On this account, subject-position is thinner than a full theory of the self yet thicker than a weak perspectival fact: it has identifiable dimensions, undergoes dynamic modulation, and is vulnerable to characteristic distortions such as diffuseness, hyper- reflexive hardening, fragmentation, and dissociative disconnection. The aim is not to provide a total theory of subjectivity, but to render a load-bearing intermediate object more clearly for philosophical, phenomenological, and adjacent theoretical work.
