@AlexMonk-WMF: OK, great. I'll try and see to that ASAP, then.

@AlexMonk-WMF: Thanks for the pointers! Are you sure, though, that telemetry will only be sent as part of the wiki installation process? The message on the mailing list seem to indicate otherwise, and that makes me suspect that the telemetry data could be extended to cover things like a list of installed extensions and gadgets and additional statistics like those shown on Special:Version.

@AlexMonk-WMF: You wouldn't happen to remember where and when those discussions took place and if they're still ongoing, do you? If so, perhaps it might be a good idea for me to follow them since I'm interested in the work you're all doing here. Also, perhaps an issue could be opened to add gadget usage to the telemetry data gathered by whatever mechanism might be relevant here?

Yeah, sounds like doing something like that could get ugly!
@Dzahn: Got 'ya, will do. I'll be keeping an eye on this task, though, so I can remove this hack when things are updated on the server end.
@revi: Ack, ya 'ninja'd me! I've got more details for you guys, though.
@greg: I'm still on OS X v10.10.5 'Yosemite,' and I'm affected by this problem as well. I don't know whether it's due either to something that's changed server-side or the fact that I just recently did a brew install -vd --build-from-source openssh --with-ldns, which updated me from the built-in version of OpenSSH ('OpenSSH_6.2p2, OSSLShim 0.9.8r 8 Dec 2011') to 'OpenSSH_7.1p1, OpenSSL 1.0.2d 9 Jul 2015,' but trying to run git pull -v on my copy of the MediaWiki repository gives me the expected error output:
Unable to negotiate with 2620::861:3:208:80:154:81: no matching key exchange method found. Their offer: diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Is the testing you did for Safari 7.x sufficient enough to cover Safari 8.x?

If you're wondering, the reason that this task is stalled is discussed here.

Speaking of environment setup: I'm in the middle of resolving some Apache configuration issues on my fake server. Oh, joy! I'll let you guys know when I have everything up and running so I can start helping out with this.
This issue went away for me shortly before I updated my system to OS X 10.10.x 'Yosemite' and Safari 8.0.x and has not resurfaced since then. I'm assuming that somebody fixed this by resolving a related issue and am, as such, closing it as 'Invalid' since it no longer describes behavior under the currently used versions of MediaWiki.

Thanks! That'll help the devs a ton.

@Magioladitis: Can you file that separate bug as a new task here in Phabricator?
Mar 21 2015
OK, I've got developer access and am in the process of setting up a MediaWiki development environment to work with. I'm going to see what I can hack together in my spare time, but feel free to ninja or contact me if you have any ideas on how to add this feature to MediaWiki, probably as either a modification to Labeled Section Transclusion or as a new extension.

Oh, duh, I knew that! I'll take a look at that link, but I'm not exactly sure what my plan of attack should be. Maybe I should take a look at how Labeled Section Transclusion works?

And…you've forgotten about this bug and left me hanging, haven't you? Oh, well; I guess I'll just sit here at my keyboard…alone…and disappointed…and all that jazz.

Still thinking?

Wouldn't a better name be 'Translations in Progress?'

Feel free to make this task's description more concise, by the way. It's currently quite lengthy, and I'm sure I included some details in it that could be relegated to comments instead.

Are we going to bring those cute little quotes that pop up above Bugzilla search results to Phabricator, or will they be lost in the transition at first? In any case, they need to be saved to something like Wikiquote so that somebody who wants to can create a Phabricator add-on, widget, or whatever that'll fetch them, one per search, via either the MediaWiki or WikiData APIs. If they can't be moved over, I'm sure going to miss them….
