AI-Driven Visual Computing for 3D Geometry, Humans, and Digital Worlds

We develop AI methods to reconstruct, generate, and understand 3D shapes, human motion, and complex environments from images, videos, and multimodal data. Our research lies at the intersection of computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning.

I am looking for self-motivated Master and Ph.D. students interested in AI-driven visual computing, 3D geometry, digital humans, scene reconstruction, and generative models. Students with strong backgrounds in computer science, engineering, mathematics, computer graphics, computer vision, or machine learning are encouraged to contact me.

Short Bio

I am a Professor and Chair of the Section of Visual Computing and Computational Media, within the College of Performance, Visualization, and Fine Arts at Texas A&M University. I hold a joint appointment with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Engineering. I am also affiliated with the Aggie Computer Graphics Group.

I received my B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2003, and my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Stony Brook University in 2005 and 2008. Before joining Texas A&M University, I was a faculty member in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Louisiana State University from 2008 to 2022.
