A cause of death has been revealed for Lina Bina, a content creator who died at age 24 this summer.

According to the Polk County Medical Examiner's office, the adult film star died due to a pulmonary embolism on Aug. 5. She had also been experiencing diminished mobility from a recent motor vehicle crash.

PEOPLE confirmed the news with Bina's family shortly after her death. The influencer had over 195,000 followers between her Instagram and TikTok, though the former profile has since been deactivated. In the days after her death became public, many of Bina's fans took to the comments on her final posts to voice their grief and shock.

"One beautiful soul gone way [too] soon. I couldn't imagine what her family is going through. May she rest in peace," one person wrote in response to Bina's last TikTok, which she shared on June 12.

"Ain't no way," another commenter added. "She was so beautiful."

A fellow content creator known as Sweet Monae took to TikTok to share some heartfelt words about Bina in a video posted on Thursday, Aug. 7. Monae began by saying that it still didn't "feel real" to say the fact of Bina's death out loud.

"I feel like I have to keep watching pictures and videos, and I just keep going over everything in my head, 'cause it just not sitting right with me," the TikToker said.

She also celebrated her friendship with Bina, whom Monae described as loyal to those she loved.

"If y'all knew Lina, y'all knew that Lina was a loving person," Monae continued. "Lina was so loving, caring ... Long live Miss John Doe."
