Drake University Law School

Drake University Law School is the law school connected to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. The school serves approximately 330 full-time students.

Established in 1865, Drake Law ranks among the oldest law schools in the United States. It was founded by Iowa Supreme Court justices George G. Wright and Chester Cole, who envisioned locating legal education near the state capital to provide students with proximity to actual courtroom proceedings.

The school offers a three-year Juris Doctor program alongside specialized offerings including the Drake Law Review, an agricultural law journal, clinical programs, and advanced degree options in intellectual property and health law.
