hello world
well anyways... i have no clue what i'm doing, but that's nothing new.
i'm lyin' everywhere else (or lyin, where they don't let me use the apostrophe in a penname...). Once upon a time, I started a fanfiction story after too long a hiatus from ANY writing and needed a name to post it under, got impatient when everything i came up with was taken, and happened to be listening to the Eagles' "Lyin' Eyes". And voila! it stuck.
20, American (thisclose to Canada, I was there yesterday- only other country I've been to yet), curly dark hair, 100% Irish, I read everything, I write anything, I run too much, sometimes i row or kayak, and besides being with my family and friends, those are I suppose my favorite things. Well, and music. I love music. I still play piano, but I'm not really good anymore.
And I probably like TV too much. though i mostly watch it on the computer these days. Especially British TV. It's an addiction, by now I've forced most of my friends and some almost-strangers to sit through at least a youtube clip of Doctor Who or BBC's Robin Hood. Ha.
Someday I'd love to get paid to write... I work for the creative writing professor at my college now, so currently I actually get paid by the hour to read fiction. It's amazing. Almost my dream job. And I baby-sit (less of a dream job, but it never really feels like work. currently I've spent several rainy days watching Roswell episodes with the tween girls I'm sitting for- I have season 1 & 2. not so bad for $8 an hour- somedays $10.)
I love the beach more than anywhere on earth and really need to get there more this summer.
and that's about it me-wise.
i doubt i'll actually use this as a journal often- never managed to keep one, of any sort. My friends made me get a xanga once, since they each had one to record the drama and angst and fluff that was junior/senior years of high school- i lasted about two long rambling posts and then forgot i ever had one until, well, now. i wonder if i could crack whatever password i was using then...
anyway, so i'm here for fanfiction. ;D seems there's some good stuff getting posted exclusively here worth finding, and, though i've been pretty exclusively fanfiction.net, branching out to Doctor Who fanfic site A Teaspoon and an Open Mind, which has been terrific and actually led me here, got me thinking that a) i might as well try posting my stuff somewhere else, and maybe do something with old drabble-type-things i never felt were up to being 'published' as an actual fanfiction.net story (I'm picky, especially with my own stuff. i edit and edit and edit, it never really stops no matter how long ago I wrote it- until i get bored). and b) i figured it would be easier to actually have a livejournal since I'm joining a Doctor Who fanfic project that'll be up on here someday soon...
(plus, i've also learned to make banners, and you don't really get to attach those to stories on fanfiction.net. and they're pretty. i want to put them somewhere).
and so, lo, i have arrived. i'm sure the random three people and/or friends reading this are thrilled. ;D hi!
