Writer's Block: Job search
Are you happy at your current job? Do you think there's such a thing as a dream job? What do you hope to be doing five or ten years from now? Are you working towards that goal?
I am very happy at my new job. I haven't been here long enough to say with confidence that it is my absolute dream job.
I can say with certainty that it fits the requirements I have set out as one of my dream jobs.
- I have authority and trust. I make important life changing and potentially life saving decisions.
- At the end of the day, I turn off the lights and go home.
- Work does not follow me, I don't get calls about subordinates, and work does not multiply or undo itself
in essence penalizing me by nullifying effort previously achieved.
- I do not have to manage 80 - 250 peoples schedules, I get to manage myself and am measured by my ability
to work effectively. I am pleased to work in a job where I can continue to serve the public.
I love working for Social Security Administration.
