Everything not only seemed, but was going perfectly for Nick Jonas. Not that he wasn't one of the luckiest people alive as it was, but it was like God had decided to personally shine his light down and really hand him one this year. Nick was sure that he was going to be able to count 2010 as one of his best yet - and though it's true it was only off to a good start less than two months in, he swore he could just somehow feel it. His first Solo record and tour had done better than he'd expected, he was back with Selena, and everything involving the both of them couldn't look better. He and his brothers had finished writing a lot of the songs for their next Jonas Brothers record, his family was still living in the cheerful afterglow of Kevin and Danielle's wedding, and it was just like all of the pieces were falling into place. With the exception of that one final piece. That piece he was hoping to fit carefully back in today.

If they both had anything to say about it publicly, they were the "best of friends", but the truth kind of was that he and Miley had barely talked since about last September. Nick kicked the toe of his converse against the ground as he pulled his fist from the door and glanced around. But he didn't have long to take in any of the differences, because soon enough the door was pulled open, and there was Miley, looking all bright eyed and smiley. "Hey," he said, letting out a breath and attempting to keep himself casual. He felt entirely comfortable around her, the same as he would an old friend. But seeing her again properly after so long was always like the beginning of a roller-coaster. You know that it shoots off at such an incredible speed, but you never quite remember how fast. He never quite recalled just what it was like to be in her presence. Smiling, he pulled her into a brief, one armed hug, as if they'd seen each other only last week. Because that's what they all seemed to do, friends or half sworn enemies, it never seemed to matter. He took her in, adding a 'you look well' to the one-worded greeting. He gestured with his head for her to follow him outside, and as he led her to his car, he started off the small talk. "So, how're your family doing?"
