The government is to make it easier for private sponsors to take over and run English state schools by removing the need of providing up-front funds of £2m.

Specialist Schools and Academies Trust Council Trustee Sir Cyril Taylor says lowering barriers to sponsor independent schools will encourage more failing schools to transform into Academies.
