The people in this bunker are so disjointed, it causes more anguish than any lack of resources or safety ever could. The "antagonist" of the piece is not a villain. She is more of a victim than the others know. As we learn her story, it becomes evident that real survival comes with accepting we need help. This was profoundly fascinating. Bravo Sam.

Roger Powers

Roger Scott Powers began writing short plays in 2022, after taking a writing workshop with playwright Kate Snodgrass at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, NM. His first play, THE ALGEBRA LESSON, was selected for the 2023 New Mexico New Works Festival. WHALE WATCHING, his second play, premiered at the Gulfport Community Players’ 2023 Summer One-Acts Competition and received that year’s Cathy Award for Favorite One Act Play. Other works include HAUNTED BY THE PAST (Gulfport Community Players, FL), MAKING AN IMPRESSION (Monmouth Community Players, ME), THE BOOK GROUP (Port Washington Play Troupe, NY), and VIRTUAL JEALOUSY (Playground Theatre Co., MA). Roger is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America. He is married to Susan Quass, his partner of 40 years. They live in Maine.
