Nice alternative to the Original "Snake," though it plays a bit sluggishly. The difficulty level is also quite high from beginning. Our German-language review can be found at 03:47:52. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. ๐Ÿ™‚

The game cannot be downloaded.

WARNING: This Page Has Been Quarantined

Our system has flagged this page for additional review due to potential suspicious behavior from the page owner.

It's a known issue. I have already contacted itch.io support, but I haven't received a response yet. There's nothing I can do about it. However, you can still download the game by clicking "continue at your own risk" button placed somewhere in that page. It's a .d64 disk image for C64 emulator, no risk at all!

UPDATE: The issue has been fixed. Now that message no longer appears when you download the game.

Thank you.

I remember this same situation happened to the C64 game Rambler. Glad it has been resolved.

Edit: Well, it seems like it isn't resolved still, but thanks for pointing out that you can still download it by clicking continue at your own risk.

No, wait! I got an email from itch.io support and they said they'd removed the quarantine from the page. I also had friends try it and the problem was gone... How is this possible?

A great worm puzzle game. I added it to my video along with other games released in June.

Thank you so much for playing my game and including it in your video!

We'd love to publish! Drop us a message (hello @ thalamusdigital.co.uk)

Great game, thanks.

Thank you for playing! ;-)

Hi :)
This is a very enjoyable and engaging game. I really like the graphics, especially the art style and color palette. The animated grass and water moving in the wind create a great atmosphere. The soundtrack is also very interesting and fits the game well.

I am one of the editors of Komoda & Amiga, a magazine dedicated to new games for Commodore and Amiga computers. I am planning to review your game in issue #31 of our magazine. Komoda & Amiga is published in both print and digital formats.

Best regards on behalf of the entire Komoda & Amiga editorial team,

Arek

It's actually the same base concept as Snakebird:

Edit: so if you don't have enough Gravity Snakes, I recommend to get Snakebird too!

I can't deny that Gravity Snake was inspired by Snakebird, but all the levels were designed from scratch and are completely different. There are also digable elements that didn't exist in Snakebird. Also, no porting of that game to the c64 was ever done.

Hey Naufr4g0!

I certainly didn't mean to downplay the value of this project. I love it and am glad someone tried to implement and expand the concept for the C64; it fits perfectly, and the new levels and mechanics are great!

My only aim with that comment was to let people know about a similar game in case they wanted more puzzles of this type, as I believe the original is also excellent and doesn't get enough recognition.

So, thank you for this great contribution to the C64 landscape, every new game keeps this great system alive!

Thank you for the clarification, and sorry if I misunderstood your original comment.

I completely agree that Snakebird deserves recognition, and I have no problem acknowledging it as a major inspiration for Gravity Snake.

Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to explain your point of view. I'm really glad you enjoyed the game, and I appreciate your support for both Gravity Snake and the C64 community. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Great game with a really interesting gameplay concept, especially regarding the player-sprite's abilities, such as the paths the snake can and cannot take. And I also like the gfx. Well executed.

Very interesting mechanics. Thanks for sharing it with us :-).

A really cool version of the classic โ€œSnakeโ€

It practically begs for a physical release ๐Ÿ˜‰

As the editor of K&A PLUS magazine, I can suggest a solution ๐Ÿ˜Š

Check out our website to see what we publish and how, and if youโ€™re interested, feel free to email me ๐Ÿ˜Š
