------

The room was quiet. It was edging on night time, the sun was just about to sink behind the horizon. Hinata had already left the room to ready herself for training. She wouldn't be back for another few hours.

Kiba sat at Hinata's computer, gripping his hair with two shaking fists. The room was unnaturally silent, especially to have an angry Kiba in it. He felt lost from the world, his shut eyes closing off his brain to any more hurtful thoughts. It was one of those feelings where he just felt like breaking something. Preferably, something large. Maybe glass so it would shatter and make a huge noise. Alas, a huge noise would only notify Hinata's family of his and the unconcious Kankuro's presence.. Then they'd be in trouble.

Kankuro laid, several feet behind Kiba against a wall. They'd just sort of dumped him there after tying his hands and legs with rope that Hinata had managed to get hold of and hadn't moved him since. Kiba knew, Kankuro being a vampire, that he'd wake up before long. He wasn't scared. He was tied up, afterall, and Hinata had apparently managed to beat him rather easily before. Him being tied up, Kiba had a major advantage in any fighting that may go on. Not to mention his overwhelming emotions that were pushing at him to let out his rage.

Tears were clinging to his eyelashes, his teeth gritting together and lips quivering. He didn't know if he wanted to cry, or scream. Maybe both. But thinking of crying and screaming did pull him back to reality with a realization. If he needed the room quiet, and Kankuro woke up.. then..

He pushed his anger and sadness away, quickly standing from the computer chair and searching Hinata's room. Kankuro could make as much noise as he wanted at this point. Why hadn't they thought to gag him before?

He sighed his aggravation, realizing that there wasn't anything in Hinata's room that would work well. So he reached around his head, his hood already down.. pointless to wear inside.. and untied his headband.

Laying on the bed, Akamaru sighed as well realizing Kiba's decision. To use something so important as a gag on a bad guy's mouth.. well, it was a bit of a drag. Nothing seemed to being going well lately. Life felt like a long, depressing, painful road to death for Kiba. He just couldn't seem to perk up, no matter what.

He kneeled in front of Kankuro, scowling. "Fucking jerk off." he muttered, beginning to wrap the headband around the other's mouth.

(What the.... where the hell... am... I?) Kankuro was confused, he had no idea what had happened to him - or what was going on, and he especially didn't understand why a boy was trying to wrap something around his mouth. Then he suddenly remembered struggling against Hinata's frail body, trying to get off of her, trying to run away, but all he could do was stay passed out and flop against her body as she walked along the road. But... this wasn't Hinata, this wasn't even a female... this was .... Kankuro squinted slightly, his eyes barely even open... "KIBA? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!"

Kiba jumped, and in a panic, gripping the headband tightly and pushing it over Kankuro's mouth, pinned him down by his head. "SHHH!!!" he hushed, eyes widened to the point his slit pupil was a small spec in white. (JEEZUS CHRIST How did he wake up so suddenly??)

Kankuro went to reach out at Kiba, but something was holding his hands back. (Am... am I tied up... did they.... get the FUCK OFF OF ME!) Kankuro rolled over, the best he could, and wondered what gave Kiba the right to tell him to be quiet.

Kiba winced, "Calm down a sec and I'll let you talk! Just, shh!!!"

(The nerve of some people.......) Kankuro tried his best to calm down to meet Kiba's "shh standards" but Kankuro was infuriated. He had been outmatched by Hinata, and tied up by Kiba.. and now Kiba was sitting right in front of him, telling him to be quiet. It was almost more than he could bear. He mumbled something to himself, then tried to sit up somehow.

Kiba hesitantly pulled the headband away from Kankurou's mouth, looking at him warningly.

"Help me sit up or something you stupid munchkin ass!" Kankuro was probably still speaking a tone higher than he should have been, but then again, he didn't know the extent of his situation. Kankuro looked around, on the floors, and waited to see if Kiba would grant his only request.

"Will you shut up?? You'll get us in trouble!!" Kiba exclaimed, balling up his fists. He heard a light tapping of footsteps outside the door, and tensed.

Kankuro noticed how Kiba froze up, and instead of taunting him like he had originally planned, he sat there in silence, almost nervously. What was so bad outside the door that even the normally outspoken Kiba had tensed incredibly?

Kiba sighed relief after a moment of tenseness and then shifted his eyes to Kankuro, "If Hinata's family finds out we're here, they'll throw a shitfit." he explained shortly. "They're about to leave, so we don't have to worry much longer." He began tying the headband back on his head, figuring that Kankuro would understand.

"Well, it doesn't explain why the hell you're here still...." Kankuro stared at Kiba. "Why do you keep interfering in mine and Temari's plans?"

"What the fuck are you talking about? You guys kidnapped my girlfriend." Kiba hissed, glaring angrily.

Kankuro realized how he was still laying almost face down on the floor. "Help me up dammit, and I'll try to make all of this make sense to you." Kankuro shifted uncomfortably against the ropes holding him down.

Kiba pouted and reached to the ropes, "Hold on a sec.." he instructed, untying Kankuro skillfully.

Kankuro struggled, pushing his way out of the ropes almost the second Kiba untied them. He stretched his arms, and wiggled his fingers around. "Thank God that's over with. You're a little punk, you know that?"

"Whatever. I want my girlfriend back, so let's talk about that! And if she's hurt at all, I'm decapitating you." Kiba fussed, wrinkling his nose and crossing his arms over his chest.

"Let's not talk about that right now. And seeing as you untied me, I don't think it's a good idea to threaten me. You know I could kill you if I wanted to.." (And if my chakra wasn't so depleted....) Kankuro untied the ropes around his feet, and leaned back against the wall, kicking off the ropes.

"I'm not scared." Kiba noted, standing up and looking at Kankuro through narrow eyes. "If you don't want to talk, I've got no reason for you being here, do I? Maybe I'll just decapitate you anyway!"

Then it hit Kankuro like a ton of bricks. (Temari... succeeded? She was able to get away! HA! I knew she could do it!) "I'll talk, but why talk about something stupid like that? Obviously she's gone for good. Plus, brat, you aren't even asking me nicely for what I know - not like I'd tell you anyway."

Kiba growled, grabbing onto Kankuro's shoulders tightly. "Stop acting like such a stubborn fucking bitch!! You're going to talk to me if it goes the hard way or the easy way, asshole!!" He yelled at the top of his voice. Surely, the Hyuugas were out by now to take advantage of the time they could be. And he *needed* to shout.

Kankuro smirked as he felt Kiba's hands gripping his shoulders. Kankuro gave a little smirk, and replied to his counterpart. "The hard way? Heh, what are you going to do to me? Drool all over me or something?"

Kiba yelled out his aggitation, pulling Kankuro just a bit off the wall before slamming him into it again, hard. Rage burned in him, shaking his fingers and bringing a deep shade of pink to his face. He'd waited long enough for this moment, but already it was angering him so. Would nothing go his way any more? Suddenly, he was starting to understand the hatred for vampires.

Kankuro hit the wall hard, and felt as if maybe the back of his head was bleeding. "You asshole, you're gonna pay for that!" Kankuro spit in Kiba's face, then got one hand free and shoved him backwards. "You don't fuckin' touch me again!"

Kiba stumbled back away from Kankuro, lifting his arm to wipe at his face. But he noticed that it wasn't just Kankuro's saliva that was wetting it. "uh.. unnn.. ughh.. grr.. FUCK THIS!!" Kiba swung his arm away from his face, shaking his head. "Akamaru!!!"

Akamaru leapt from the mattress at the call to cling to Kiba's shoulder, growling at Kankuro.

"Oh what a man, bring the dog back into this, huh? Why don't you ever fight your own battles?" Kankuro's eyes narrowed, and he wanted to hurt Kiba badly. "Either my brother or your friend always have to save your ass every time you fight! It gets really old!"

Kiba said nothing, the words only deepened his anger. With a small, angry yell, he dropped to his knees and formed a hand symbol. "Jyuunjin bunshin!" he called, Akamaru who had slid to his back by now becoming his clone, perched upon Kiba and snarling at Kankuro.

Kankuro looked at the two Kibas, and sorta got a bit scared. Quickly, he tried to get out of the battle. "Uhmmm... would you really feel like fighting me when you know my chakra is exhausted like me? That wouldn't prove much, and plus, you could be in the middle of the fight when the Hyuuga's return!"

Akamaru hopped from Kiba's back, sending a punch straight for Kankuro's face, while Kiba slid to thrust a fist aimed for Kankuro's gut.

Kankuro had once again failed, this time just in a war of words instead of physical battle. Kankuro ducked the punch aimed at his face, but wasn't able to move out of the way of Kiba's stomach shot. He felt Kiba's hand thrust into his stomach, and he bent over, immediately spitting up something - possibly blood. He stumbled backwards, hit his head against the wall, and slumped down. "Damn.. you..."

"Damn ME?" Kiba laughed, "Damn ME?!?!?!" He straightened himself, "You took Tenten!!!!!" With a growl, he slammed his foot into Kankuro's side.

Kankuro fell over, landing a small pile of dust. He coughed as it went into his mouth, but struggled to sit back up. Kankuro hated backing down from anything, but he knew that he was going to get beat if he didn't give up now. "Look, if you stop, maybe I'll talk about... Tenten..."

Akamaru, in a poof, was back in puppy form, and Kiba looked at Kankuro impatiently. "I'm not kidding this time, you better talk."

Kankuro smirked. (Hehe, he's easy to beat.....) "Do you think that Tenten matters to Temari? Do you think Tenten matters to me? Cause if you think that, you're horribly mistaken. I can't stand her, and Temari probably hates her by now too. This is much bigger than Tenten, and it goes far beyond even you Kiba. Stop trying to understand stuff that doesn't concern you."

"How the FUCK doesn't it concern me?" Kiba leaned down, glaring. "Don't make me hurt you again." he said in a growl.

"I don't know what Gaara wants you for, and to be honest I don't care." Kankuro snarled angrily. "What me and Temari want goes further than you, and it doesn't really concern you at all."

"Answer this!! Why. Did. You. Take. Tenten!???!" Kiba asked, his voice seemingly becoming hoarse from yelling.

"Because, we know that Gaara goes wherever you do, and we know you go wherever that little girlfriend of yours goes. We can't get Gaara on our own, and we couldn't get you either. So... even though it's a roundabout way of doing it.... this is our way of bringing Gaara back to the Sand Village." Kankuro crossed his arms, feeling like maybe he had said too much.

Kiba sighed, closing his eyes. "Gaara doesn't care about me any more. Let Tenten go, and forget about us." He said, forcing himself to be calm.

(An obvious bluff...) "What is that supposed to mean? Gaara probably has been looking for you left and right ever since he let you go!" Kankuro walked over to Kiba, and gently shoved him, just to play around. "So what are you talking about?"

Kiba scowled at Kankuro, "He's the one who told me the other day he'd beat my ass! I hate him!!!!"

"Eh, you probably annoyed him. I doubt he just came up to you and....." Kankuro stopped. "Wait... is he around here?"

"No. I told you, he doesn't care about me." He sighed. "Listen, Just.." he looked away from Kankuro, tears gathering in his eyes. "Bring Tenten back, she won't do anything for you. Didn't you idiots here? Gaara ran off. And if you read his journal, you'd see that he obviously won't try anything to help Tenten."

"Are you crying, brat?" Kankuro tried to walk in front of Kiba to check, but ended up standing on the side. "I know what I'm doing. If you follow Tenten, Gaara will ultimately follow you because he needs you...."

"Well I'm not following her.." Kiba turned to Kankuro, lifting his head to meet his eyes. "So give her back!!"

"Well, unfortunately, and don't go off on me because of this - it's not my fault... but..." Kankuro leaned against the wall. "If Temari thinks Tenten is worthless... she'll probably just kill her... that's what she does when someone isn't important anymore.... so..."

Kiba widened his eyes, and in a second, was running to the window and shoving it open. 'Tenten.. hold on, I'm coming.' he thought sincerely, lifting his leg onto the sill to begin crawling into the night.

"Wait a minute jerk. Do you think going after her alone is going to help? She's probably in the Sand Village... and Temari has pull there ya know. She knows how to keep people away." Kankuro looked angry for a second, then calm, then disturbed. (I can't go against Temari... but...) "I'll... go with you maybe..."

"Come on if you're coming." Kiba said hastily, and then hopped to the ground. He was impatient, he *needed* to get to Tenten. She *had* to be alright.

Kankuro leaned his purple painted face out of the window, feeling a stiff breeze blow his hood to one side. "Kiba, wait a minute!! Don't you think... maybe.... we should discuss this? Stop being stupid!"

"I love her!!!" Kiba yelled, before taking off as fast as he could with just that thought in mind.

Kankuro hopped out of the window, and quickly released chakra from his fingers, tripping Kiba up. It was all the chakra that he had regained, and even doing that little bit had hurt him. "Stay still for a minute, Temari won't do anything unless she knows I'm ok. You have time."

Kiba winced when he hit the ground, but pulled himself back to his feet as soon as he could and turned to Kankuro. "Don't get in my way." he commaned, narrowing his eyes.

"I'm not getting in your way, but I am making sure you don't make any more stupid mistakes... you've made enough of those in the past few weeks. If you rush in, Temari might kill Tenten for the sheer fact that she thinks that you've killed me." Kankuro walked at a faster pace to catch up to where Kiba was standing.

"Then you're coming with me!" Kiba yelled, kicking the ground.

Kankuro tried to think fast, but he knew what he was about to say could be taken a few different ways. "Well, if you think I'm going against Temari for Tenten's sake, or for your sake, you are sadly mistaken. I wouldn't fight her if my life depended on it."

"You just have to stand there, dumbass, she'll be happy to see you and I'll go get Tenten." Kiba explained, glaring.

"Maybe you don't understand how Temari works. She doesn't care about me, except for the fact that it means the mission didn't fail horribly. You can't be THAT dumb." Kankuro just glared evily at Kiba.

"HA! She made an update. 'Wah, where is Kankuro, wah?' I know she cares about you, don't even try and fool me." he said, turning away from Kankuro. Suddenly, nothing Kankuro could say seemed important.

"I told you, it's only because of the mission. It's always been that way." Suddenly the bully inside Kankuro started to fade, and Kankuro caught that. (Even if he's not being an ass, and I can't fight him.. I can't show emotion to him...) "That is... it's always been that way... moron."

Kiba clenched his fists. "I'm not afraid. If it's for Tenten, I'm strong. Whatever you have to say doesn't matter. You're pathetic, especially for a vampire. Tch, it took you forever to wake up. Only for you to get kicked around some more. I thought vampires were supposed to heal quickly." Kiba looked at Kankuro again, bearing his fangs in a hateful scowl. "Bat shit!" he yelled loudly, voice echoing in the open space of the night.

"I heal plenty quick, but not if another vampire does some voodoo crap and knocks me out. Probably some forbidden skill or something.... who cares. Don't press your luck, Kiba..." Kankuro growled at him, and showed his fangs, just to mock Kiba. "And you'll regret making that comment.... you freakin dumbass!"

"I'M the dumbass? HA! You don't know who you're dealing with, don't fucking underestimate me because I'm a human!!" Kiba turned, balling up his fist. "I know you don't fight fair. I won't hesitate to kick your ass even if you ARE pathetic and injured!!"

"Oh shut up, I'll fight you after I confirm a few things... and that won't be for a while. Oh yea, and keep in mind... if you try to hurt me... I can reach Temari and Tenten before you can... because I know where they are. You don't. So unless you want..." Kankuro motioned a finger across his throat slowly. "Then I guess... maybe you should be more cooperative."

Kiba shifted on his feet, his lips twitching in an angry frown and he was just so ready to pounce the other and pound his nose into his skull. But he had something more important to think about. He turned again, and ran like hell. 'He's doing it on purpose, he wants me to be angry. For some reason he's trying to keep me here! I'm not falling for it. I'll find Tenten *now*.' he thought, his heart beating heavily in his chest.

Kankuro smirked, then followed chase. "HEY! YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET THERE BEFORE ME! TENTEN WON'T LIVE IF YOU KEEP GOING!!" Kankuro knew he had the upper hand now because it was just him and Kiba now.

Kiba just scowled. 'Tenten will not die.' "Stop following me!!!"

Kankuro stopped running. "Fine, you'll see.. but I didn't think you'd be the one to gamble with someone elses life like that. Heh, especially since you said you care so much." Kankuro licked his lips, tasting some of the purple face on his face. "Don't you think you at least owe it to her to be careful?"

Kiba slowed to a stop, and stilled completely. 'What am I doing? I'm not thinking at all...' He closed his eyes, twitching. 'But he's the one.. if I give it time.. If Kankuro gets strong again, then he might.. hold me back.' Slowly, Kiba turned his head to look at Kankuro who was a bit behind him now..

"Have doubts all you want... I know EXACTLY what you're thinking. But... if you don't listen to me, then you won't be able to find her easily. I'm sure we can work something out." Kankuro grinned at how intelligent he felt, knowing that Kiba really was running out of options.

Kiba frowned, closing his eyes. "If it's a trap, it won't work.." he said knowingly.

Kankuro walked over to Kiba who had just recently closed his eyes, and put his hand on Kiba's shoulder. "Hmmm..? Are you finally going to calm down? Are you finally acting like you can be smart?"

Kiba opened his eyes to glare at Kankuro, "Don't insult me, I'm still not afraid to kick your ass!"

"For someone who is in such dire straits right now.... you sure are being cocky. If you knock me out, you'll never know how to find Temari or your precious little miss fuckable." Kankuro glared back into Kiba's eyes, hoping he was looking intimidating. "So, it would be in your best interest to not threaten me while you're the one needing something, understood?" Kankuro grabbed Kiba's jaw with one hand and forced their eyes to meet each others.

Kiba closed his eyes tightly, his expression one of misery. "Her name is Tenten." he corrected Kankuro, fighting himself. He was ready to cut the other open and be done with it, but it was too clear that reject batman was right..

Kankuro knew he had the upper hand, just from the look on Kiba's face. "I don't care what her name is... her name could be Doorknob for all I care. The fact remains that her fate lies in my older sisters hands. So maybe... just maybe, you need to stop acting so tough."

"Fuck you!" Kiba opened his eyes, stepping back and shoving Kankuro's hand away. "Just shut up! If you're gonna say something, make it something useful!"

"Hmph. Aren't you one to talk. If you keep saying hurtful things like that... maybe I'll run in the opposite direction, and then where will you be left? You NEED me if you want to see Tenten again. So ha!" Kankuro turned and started walking in the other direction.

Kiba smirked and turned away from Kankuro, crossing his arms and remaining silent. 'I am NOT letting you control me.' he thought, heading opposite of Kankuro. 'Once he realizes I'm not following him, he'll feel soo stupid.' Kiba grinned at the thought.

(Well, doesn't he think he's smart?) Kankuro grinned and kept walking in the opposite direction. "Hey, one more thing before I go.... uhmmm that's not the right way to the Sand Village." Kankuro wondered if Kiba had heard him, but he didn't care to wait. He jumped into a tree, trying to hide himself from Kiba. "And just what will you tell that vampire friend of yours when she comes back and her bait is gone?"

Kiba blinked, and froze. "I.." He turned around quickly, wincing when he didn't locate Kankuro. (I'm sooo stupid!!!!) he thought, biting his lip.

Kankuro had just beaten Kiba. Never did he have any intention of bringing Kiba to Tenten or Temari, all he had wanted was to get away without a fight, escape without getting hurt. Now he was free to run back to Temari, and the bargaining chip that Hinata and Kiba had was gone. Now Kiba would never see Tenten again unless he followed somehow. (Hehe, what a moron... gullible as hell, and I don't know what Gaara saw in him anyway.)

Kiba fell to his knees, placing his hands against the leaves. "KANKURO! PLEASE!!!" he screamed, shutting his eyes but not yielding tears that fell against his fingertips.

Kankuro just smiled as wide as his face would allow him to. This was the second time that he had gotten the best of the fluffy haired boy, and Kankuro was sure it wouldn't be his last. Kankuro laughed in his head, to himself, at the begging voice of the boy on the ground. (I can see him, but he can't see me.... and I'm not going back to help him. The plan WILL succeed.) Kankuro silently hopped a few trees further, then turned and waited.

"Don't leave.." Kiba whimpered on the ground, his hands tightening around a hand full of leaves. "GET BACK HERE, PLEASE!!!!"

(He's trying to act smart, but I'm not falling for that one. He's gonna lure me back, then he's going to fight me... I'm not that dumb... Me and Temari have been working so hard on this plan, and I'm not going to face disappointment again. See ya, bitch!) Kankuro turned and hopped a few more trees.

Kiba grinned and leaned down over a branch, grabbing Kankuro's shoulder before he could hop another tree and letting his feet drop from his sitting place to press against Kankuro's back. "Where are YOU going?" he asked. 'Idiot!! As if I'd really even pretend to beg. That was obviously a replication. Making him move was easier then I thought.'

Kankuro grinned, and released control of the crows. (I bet he didnt even know I had the crows with me... haha! Stupid Hinata brought it along and left outside in these woods before she took me inside!) Kankuro watched as the crows fell from the branches and landed in the forest below. "HEY KIBA! SEE YA LATER!" With that, Kankuro took off running the other way.

"Oh fuck!" Kiba flipped off the branch to land next to the crows. "Way to treat your puppet, ASS!" Kiba yelled, and began running after Kankuro.

Kankuro grabbed his head. Falling that far from the tree had hurt, but at least it looked convincing. (Hehe, I had the crows with me alright, but... it was over there...) Kankuro watched as Kiba chased after his crows, who Kiba thought really was Kankuro. (Hehe, how easy was that? Pretend to be the crows, and he falls for it... but my neck does hurt now.)

"Kankuro!! Damnit, if you get back here I'll feed you!!" 'He's gotta be hungry,' Kiba thought, 'After being out for all that time.'

Kankuro chuckled, but still was offended. "Stupid jerk ass..." Kankuro realized that holding onto the chakra was taking too much energy, and he released the chakra strings, and watched the REAL crows stumble, and collapse to the dirt. (Good, he's far enough away now to where he won't catch me...) Kankuro hopped back in the trees and took off as fast as he could toward the end of the forest.

Kiba twitched, and fell over. 'God, he..' He said sadly, clenching his fist, tears reaching his eyelashed. And then, he turned over on the ground, grinning. 'Is so gonna set off one of my traps soon.'

Kankuro lept from tree to tree, still, making sure to be careful of anything suspicious. He wasn't sure exactly what he was being careful about, but he knew it would be just his luck to get caught in something now... or maybe he didn't want to land on a weak branch because the snap of the twig would give him away, but then again, maybe he just didn't want to run into Hinata again.

Kiba got to his feet, walking slowly in Kankuro's direction. 'There's no way he'll get away.. now that I~WAHHHHHHHHH!!!" Kiba found himself rising towards the treetops, and stopped suddenly, dangling from his foot by a leaf colored branch. "Ya~uhhhnnn!!!" Looking up, Kiba could recognize the trap as one of his own. 'When the hell did I get so careless?' Whining slightly, he closed his eyes. 'I really am an idiot.. Why is everything going so wrong??' He was kicking himself so hard inwardly, but he knew for now there was nothing he could do. 'It'll snap soon. I've just got a wait a while.' He sighed aloud, a pathetic surrendering sigh. 'I lost him...'
